This is literally what I did when I clicked the link. laugh

At least he didn't steal Kubo's style of storytelling. That would've been devastating. laugh

This post basically points out the same things I was thinking about when I read his "apology".

It's really hilarious....

He really likes Bleach. So, just maybe, while he was working, he had some of his Bleach laying out on the table, and accidentally put paper all over the place. So, then when he was drawing his original works, he just happened to trace some of the Bleach illustrations. It's possible, right? Just a total accident.*

*(it's called sarcasm for those who don't know)

Assistant: Hey man, doesn't this look exactly like Bleach? Actually, it looks like you traced some of this.

Nick: Who cares? You saw me in that Dr. Pepper commercial with my dad, right? I'm f#@king bulletproof! If they do say something, I'll just say that I was really inspired by the work. I'm Gene Simmons' son. Coming from me, that's enough to make up for anything.

Kinda hard to detect sarcasm when no one can hear your tone of voice.

What people should realize is that manga sometimes have very general features. Unless the story line is the same, art work similarities doesn't really matter. Drawing schools teaches you how to draw good pictures by giving you examples of how the pros do it. It may be that this author admired Bleach and used it as his guide. I seen plenty of yaoi out there that are so similar in art and action depiction even though the two authors are not even in the same area.

Yes he copied. I have to say, this is kind of sad. There are too many "similarities" to be just a coincidence.

I was so pissed when i say the pictures on Livejournal.(link below) He's been practically tracking images from different manga especially bleach and he can barely do that good. I guess copying must be admirng for Nick Simmons. I hope he doesn't get away with it. mad

Ahh, now this one is definite. Way worse than the Kayono thing; she only traced advertisements and based some of her layouts off of those of other people. This is entirely blatant plagiarism.

God, it's like something a twelve year old would do. I guess I feel kind of bad for the guy, though; he's the son of a legend and he probably felt like he had to do something worth note at some point in his life, despite being a dysfunctional otaku with as little talent as the rest of us.
