It's like somebody was doing 160km/h in a Fiat Bravo '95 and tried to take a tight turn. Of course, as in real life, this turned into a disaster. The car didn't make the turn and got vaporised on the nearest tree efficiently killing everything that was inside. Even if you cared a bit about one of those things it's there no more.

Talk about a tragic event. I still can't convince myself that that what I read beyond chapter 15 was real, it must be some elaborate joke... or maybe we entered the twilight zone.

After some chapters(I don't know which one) it is leaving its reality aspect. Is it just me or Medaka Box really becoming more cliche shounen manga? After the oneshot and first chapter i thought it was really good but now ..........

what u felt there was probably medaka box is becoming unreal. I can't exactly put into words but it just doesn't give me the feeling of curiosity anymore.

Dude, it's a manga, calling it "real" or "unreal" doesn't really describe anything.

MB managed (for the first 15 chapter) established - at least generally - the world and the rules by which it functions. That world was a comedy-light about school life, we saw it from the eyes of a guy (whatshismaneagain), who by a chance is a childhood friend of a "perfect" (superhuman) girl.

Then comes chapter 16. Some kind of a emo-crazy-kid-schwarzkarakter pops up... and he was apparently all along in the school. I see students get beaten (to a bloody pulp) for a no-good reason by some kind of a "Obey-the-rule" group. Apparently they want me to feel that this is some serious-biznes, fuck the comedy... WAIT WAIT WAIT... where the hell did the non-serious/light-headed world go.... he was here just a chapter ago. All seems so wrong.

What I read/saw today is probably the biggest crime a mangaka (two of them in this case) can do to his work.

You should read the discussion thread.
People (me included) have been bitching about this exact point for months now.

I can give you this advise though.
Forget about the first 15 chapters. Completely. They never existed. They're lies.
The mangaka started a light comedy/school life manga and then went 'no it's not, it's a battle manga.'
You must accept it as it is, a very generic shounen battle manga.
Only then may you find this series mildly entertaining, maybe.

You should read/watch Bakemonogatari.
I couldn't believe it when I found out it was by the same author.

Thank you very much, I prefer to stay with the comedy. No to mention Medaka is the last person I would put in the shoes of the main lead.

Besides, one rage-thread doesn't do justice to the crime we have witnessed.

Considering that Medaka Box is apparently getting canceled soon, this discussion is pretty much worthless. I do agree that it went a little out of hand, but it isn't as extreme of a change as some of the other ones I have read in the past.

Thank god they are cancelling it, it's apparently 5th for the bottom when it comes to popularity.

No it's not, because:
1. I'm venting my frustration at this outrage.
2. I'm letting other people know that they are not the only one felling that something is horribly wrong.

Dude, seriously... tell me the titles. I can't believe until I see on my own eyes. Oh yeah, I also know a title like that "Yu Yu Hakusho" (Togashi Yoshihiro work, he later did "Level E" so I forgave him) - although MB still beats it head one.

Nice analogy?
The question is: was it oversteer or understeer?

Good question. The car was understeered , the manga clearly oversteered.

Read Bakuman then youll know what happened to Medaka. When a manga is about to go down the tubes they usually try and make it a battle manga to keep it alive, and apparently it worked somewhat for medaka. I think the same thing happened to reborn (with more success of course) but yeah I dont mind Medaka either way as I read more for the characters than what they are doing be it solving peoples problems or using abnormalities to hit people in new ways.
