Hard to decide, but I'd lose my sense of smell if I had to, as I have a horrible one right now anyways, so the loss won't be too bad~

Question: If you had to lose one of your 5 traditional sense, which would you give up?
Choices:
Sight - votes: 800 (5.3%)
Hearing - votes: 671 (4.4%)
Touch - votes: 1482 (9.8%)
Smell - votes: 8565 (56.6%)
Taste - votes: 3612 (23.9%)
There were 15130 total votes.

Crud... I accidentally chose the wrong one but anyways, it'd be "touch" for me. Mine doesn't work too well so I don't care about losing it.

Then again, it'd be really difficult if I got hit by a car and didn't feel any pain. Hmmm... oh whatever. I already have been hit by 1 a couple of times. smile

Smell, it's the least important.

Oh, I was thinking about it some time ago smile I picked 'taste' - food is not very important for me and it would be a perfect excuse to go on a diet wink

Wellllll, it depends on how your defining it, because smell also happens to be tied to taste and we can only taste 4 things, sweet, salty, bitter, and sour, i believe taste to be the most useless because regardless your nose would still give you a taste.

I like food.
So I'm keeping taste.

Smell is also linked to taste. They say if you eat and apple and an onion with your nose totally blocked (like if you hold it, not if you have a cold), you wont be able to tell the difference. So I want to keep smell too.

I like art, so I need to keep my sight.

I like music, a lot. I listen to it whenever I can.

Touch? Still important, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to give. Music, art and food is far too important in my life laugh

Bye bye sense of touch.

Sight, defenitly sight.

I don´t really need my sight to do anything I really truly desire.

Taste..

My eyesight already sucks enough as it is, and I have trouble seeing. I don't know what I'd do if I lost that! I still want my hearing and sense of touch. As for smell.. I was debating between smell and taste, but I chose taste. Although I would miss the taste of food a lot.... I guess it could also sorta benefit. Like I wouldn't have to taste the bitterness of pills anymore or whatnot.

if sight, no.. since the beauty around you can only be seen through your eyes. as the saying says, the beauty of the soul can be ssen on its window.

if taste, no. since i'm a culinary master, and taste is definetly important for as.

if hearing, another no. music has its own interpretation once heard. yes, after a night of classical/concerto performance, there's always reviews and critics. but admit it, they have their own opinions. so hearing is important.

what else? oh, touch. i don't mind it. but once your with your love one, you want to be caress and feel the satisfaction.

so for me, it's the smell. though it's important in culinary, but you can never define the taste of the cuisine even if you have your sense of smell but not the sense of taste.

I agree mostly with genre001, well, not that I'm a culinary master.

I'd be most willing to part with sense of smell. Of course, it's not like I'd give it up willy nilly, but still, it's the one I think I can live without the most.

Don't think I could ever give up the sense of touch. I can't comprehend life as a vegetable.

I wonder why anybody picked 'sight'. You can't read manga when you can't see, you know.

OK Smell is directly linked to taste, think about it whenever your sick and have a stuffed nose food doesn't taste right and if you don't believe me just plug your nose the next time you eat you can't taste that well. and for the 9% that have so far chosen touch I guess that means you don't like having sex cuz removing touch gets rid of all the "good" touching as well. personally I chose sight but I should have chosen taste I mean it runs the risk of eating poison but I trust my eyes and people should, eat to live not live to eat

I picked up sight. Because you can perfectly well survive without sight and still make somebody else read you books (which i suppose are my top obsession when dealing with anime/manga/books/etc xD)
But not having other senses is kinda bothersome. Taste and smell are very important to feeding (especially if you just happen to be alone and you're dealing with food you don't know - its taste and smell that i'll tell you if any of the food is not good for your body) and not having touch and hearing is nasty when dealing with your own body. Be it injuries or just something simple as walking around.

Sight is just an extra that we humans received from mother nature and we're spoiling ourself a tiny bit to much. But i guess in society we live today other senses really are not that much important.

Still if i'd have to lose one and if i could chose i'd chose sight. smile
