Wow, fail. You people do realize...if you lose your sense of smell, your sense of taste goes with it. It's a double whammy. Granted, I really don't want to lose any of my senses, but anyway, I'd definitely choose touch. Main problem with that, though, is if you were on fire, you wouldn't know it. xD

That's the same thing I was thinking. ^_^ Loose smell you loose taste too. And to anyone that does not believe that pinch your nose and eat a piece a of raw garlic then unpinch your nose.
I need my since of taste and smell because I cook. I need my since of sight because I play with knives, read stuff and look at art. Can't loose touch because (not meaning to sound tacky) sex would no fun at all without touch and I also like the feel of dough and food. So hearing it would have to be, I love music so it would be hard, but I figure I could still feel the vibration and can read close captioning.

I have actually lost my sense of smell after getting a concussion and brain bleed. I did not lose my sense of taste (just so you know that taste is not completely dependent on smell).

I believe that the sense of smell is the best to lose because it is the one that is the least useful, just like the ring finger.

I clicked smell thinking that it would be nice if I never had to suffer B.O. or backed up toilets again.

But seriously, smell should be the easiest to give up for most people because humans simply don't rely on their sense of smell anymore, to the extent that many other animals do. Primates in general are much more reliant on sight and sound for most useful sensory input, but it you think about the everyday world you live in, pretty much everything besides food is made to appeal to your eyes and ears, rather than your nose.

Losing your sight or hearing would seriously impair your ability to observe the parts of the world that matter, and more importantly, your ability to communicate. Touch is often taken for granted but still highly important to perception. Smell and taste are technically two sides of the same coin, but I'd still like to taste my food to some degree.

I went with taste, for mostly the same reasons as stated above, but thinking of it, there is a lot of unpleasant smells that I could live without... For example the scent of blood during certain science lessons...Have been nearsighted all my life and recently had a temporary impairing to my hearing for some weeks, not prepared to part with either of them after that. As for touch...Not really concerned, but the idea frightens me much more than losing smell/taste.

I dare say that those who would loose their touch have never touched a womans boob.
I chose taste, as it could be practical to eat healthy food which i currently don't like the taste of.

I wouldn't mind losing my sense of smell. I don't feel anything with my right hand already and i can tell it's really not fun those who say they could live without touch really don't know how it feel when you can't feel anything.I like tasting food i eat specially chocolate and i need my sight and hearing to play Video game.

Sight... no, couldn't watch movies, play games, or enjoy seeing women
Hearing... I use it too much
Touch... I was going to vote for this but I realized it would make sex pointless so it was a definite no.
Smell... Not a critical one, but I want to know if I step in dog crap or I stink so that I can fix it rather than be walking around thinking everything is cool.
Taste... this is what I voted for. Food is cool and all but this seems like the most useless of all senses.

Easy for me to decide:
Smell: since I live in town there are more bad smelling things than nice ones.
And besides I'm able to "taste" quite a huge varity of scents with my tongue ;P
Sounds weird but it's true^^;

I thought this one was fairly easy. I'd lose my sight... Why? You Ask.
Well I'll explain it by eliminating the rest:
Taste, well, if you don't care much about food, then go for it. By the way, We consume food and water regardless of Sight, Hearing, Touch and Smell. Just thought you should know.
Smell, Well, if you take away Smell, you won't know when your in danger by means of detecting Smoke, Gas, and anything else, but also be for-warned because, without smell, we can't taste.
Touch, Well, apart from it being the most important, we NEED it. If we were to lose touch, Everything else is obsolete. Don't have to describe to much here since it's obvious, You lose Touch, you lose Head, Hands, Legs, PeNi$ and Emotion.
Hearing, The Second most Important, or so tied with Smell. It's the thing that allows us to understand each other, sure we can sense our emotions with our six sense and all, but that's just some BS you get from watching to many movies, or reading to many manga. Hearing allows you to hear danger, as well as know that you FREAKIN' Exist! By hearing the world around you... Wait, i got that screwed up, it's Touch that makes you Exist, Hearing makes you not lonely, so It lets you feel other peoples opinions and thoughts.
The last and Second to last least important is Sight.
Sure, it's great, but as Confucius said "Music is the worlds greatest pleasure", Touch keeps you alive. Smell and Taste, lets you experience beyond sight, and Losing Sight allows you to become a better person, without prejudice based on Color, or by Size.

So to list them:

4 Taste. Small price to pay for the best senses
3 Sight. Sucks to not have it, but at least you've got people and Music
2 Smell/Hearing. Hearing Beats it by a little, but it's so close, it's better they tie
1 Touch, who's stupid enough to go without touch, then your dead the next time someone shoots you and you feel fine, then bleed out on the side of the road!

I enjoy reading and watching movies too much. I love listening to music. I love touching and being touched. So, I'd have to go with taste or smell. But since I'm fond of smelling certain things, we'll go with taste.

You eliminated smell because of sensing dangers? What about sight? laugh You would never be able to run for your life laugh You couldn't survive in a deserted jungle on your own. You are pretty much disabled unless your in a familiar surronding, even then a slight 20cm change is catastrofic with no stick...You take your sight for granted. I would eliminate smell and have the others and still live a pleasant life.
If you had sight, hearing, taste and touch you would only be "slightly" downgraded.. embarrassed
Oh and without smell we can still taste but not as well defined. A light taste but it is still there, i can live with that. As you age you loose that sense bit by bit anyhow.

Your choice baffles me.

I guess being fully dependant on the actions of others for my survival isn't something i see as a great thing. Just me i guess.
