As long as it doesn't look like someone just used the fill tool in MS Paint, I don't really care.

I don't care if it's great colouring or not. I HATE them.

If you're really amazing at colouring you would post it in a proper fansite where people could appreciate it more. And usually when that happens you erase the text and crop the image to get the exact part of the panel that is so epic/beautiful that it just demands being coloured.

The fan-coloured pages included in scanlations are never amazing, "not bad" at best. As others have said, they usually ruin the reader's pace and take up extra space in the zip file or take more pages to skip/load when reading online. They're clearly a pain in the butt but no one wants to tell the scanlators to stop doing it because it's their right to include whatever they want in their scanlations which we get to enjoy for free off of their sweat and blood.

So, as much as I hate it I consider them one of the evils of the world that I just have to put up with because I can't read japanese/korean/chinese. Slowly killing my eyes with crappy fan-coloured art is worth the immense enjoyment of reading my favourite mangas/manhwas/manhuas.

I don't mind if they are included at the beginning or end of the manga. It really bothers me if it appears in the middle pages. The most dramatic scenes are usually chosen, but the coloring is not that great and I don't like to read the same page twice. It disrupts the flow of the story for me. Luckily I haven't come across this very much.

Including the original page is really important. I personally couldn't care about them but I get annoyed when they pop up while I'm reading the chapter. If the scanlator puts them in the middle of the chapter right behind the original page I'm either going to rename it and put it at the end or, more likely, just delete it.

I think it's great when it's colored the way that I like it (us comics style). I haven't seen a manga release that replaced the regular pages with fan colored ones though. It's always a little bonus. I wouldn't mind replacement though, as long as the coloring style was consistent for the whole chapter.

One thing I do hate is when both are included but rather than put either all the colors or all the normal ones in their own section, they put them in page order so you might be reading it and see the same page like 2 or 3 times back to back.

Sometimes the pages are colored well and look really awesome, but most often the ones I see are only so-so. This leaves me with the feeling that if you do something, you should do it right or not at all. This is however only a mild annoyance, maybe calling it annoyance at all is already to strong, so I don't really mind. But, anyway, I've too often that pages are 'colored' by just slapping some base color under the black and white tonals, which I think is a waste of time, so I'd rather that if they want to color a page they should put some more effort in to it

A much more important factor to me is that it really takes me out of the story if there is suddenly a double page (one colored and one normal). Especially since the pages that are most often colored are those in critical scenes (the ones where the heroine finally confesses, or where the hero doe his special attack to defeat the bad guy), which really cuts off the excitement that scene was trying to build up.
This is something that really annoys me, I'd rather they'd keep the original page or the colored one seperated from the story, or color a page that isn't story related (chapter pages, or the pages with extra art or sketches from the author you sometimes see in manga).

it seems my opinion is quite the same as Mr.sickVisionz above me ^^
