MangaMeeya is the best when reading manga is concerned. Since I discovered it, it became irreplaceable for me.

lynira, part of the reason people use "fancy programs" to view manga is so they don't have to keep extracting images for the standard windows viewing program, which keeps everything compact/saves room.
Also, most make the experience a lot better by blocking out everything except the image itself... and you can have the standard size as default... so, one only has to use the keyboard to look at the image completely w/o having to touch the mouse at all.

Aw, man, I had no idea. Now I feel even more primitive than before. Well, I guess I'll have to check some of them out and see how I like them.

I usually use tenmanga.com or mangareader.net, if I'm really greedy to read (which I usually am), I will go to the groups site, download the chapter, and leave a comment.
MangaMeeya? What's that? How does it work?

I use cdisplay. unless It's a long running series 300+ chapters then I'll use an online reader until I'm caught up.

ComicBookLover is pretty much the only decent viewer I know of on the Mac. It leaks memory like crazy, but other than that is does the job well -- it just means you have to restart the program every couple hours
