The editors of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine have announced that Alive - Saishū Shinka teki Shōnen (Alive - The Final Evolution) manga writer Tadashi Kawashima passed away on Tuesday, June 15, due to liver cancer. He was 42.
The editors noted that Kawashima continued to work on the manga from his sickbed and managed to complete the manga this past February. Even after finishing Alive, he proceeded to work on a new series while he battled liver cancer. The editors offered their condolences on Kawashima's passing.
