Um, yeah. This is a thread to discuss the 2nd season of Kuroshitsuji's anime, also known as Monoshitsuji! Hopefully, this is allowed by the mods, as the discussion will still tie into the manga.

For one thing, I have a question for those that have read as far as the latest manga releases - is there any hint that the manga will follow the same plot trajectory as the 2nd season of the anime?

Spoiler (highlight to view)
With, you know, Ciel coming back to life after Sebastian TRIED to claim him and failed, and the whole Alois Trancy thing and the other demonic butler, Claude.

Does anyone know whether Toboso Yana has planned to reflect these developments in the manga, or will they be strictly anime-verse? Since the manga and the anime obviously don't always see eye to eye.

So what do people think of this season? I admit to having been somewhat bored by episodes 2-4, because there was very little real plot development, and the episodes felt like fillers - but I *loved* the first episode for introducing us to Alois and Claude (and by implication, the long-term plot), and I adored episodes 5-6 for delivering on the promise of that plot.

EPISODE SIX WAS MADE OF EPIC WIN, OMG. JUST. All that plotty goodness! And Sebastian doing that and the demon contract he made with Claude and...!

Okay, so here's my thing...

Spoiler (highlight to view)
---- Sebastian is unusually attached to Ciel! Claude says so! (And Sebastian demurs, but really, dude, y'aint foolin' nobody.)

----- Sebastian makes a VOLCANO EXPLODE when he realizes that another demon touched Ciel's soul, he's so jealous and enraged. Yeah, you keep tellin' people you aren't "unusually attached," man. But it really would have to suck to spend all those years polishing Ciel like a jewel, only to have that jewel nicked from your knapsack! I totally get why Sebastian wants to gut Claude and decorate the Phantomhive mansion with his entrails (at least, that's what Sebastian's hatred of Claude looks like).

---- BUT THEN SEBASTIAN PIMPS CIEL OUT TO CLAUDE????? Did I see this right? I mean, I get that Sebastian doesn't intend to do that at all, what with his repeated declarations of "Bochhan is MINE >:O >:O >:O" - but doesn't the new blood-contract he signs with Claude entail that once Ciel has achieved his second revenge, his soul will go to Claude? Wtf? Is Sebastian planning to break his contract with Claude? But aren't demon contracts, like, srs bzns? Wouldn't Sebastian die or something (or be condemned to an eternity of torment, I dunno) if he didn't follow through on his contract and let Claude have Ciel? Or is there something in the small print of their contract that I'm not seeing, or something violable in the wording, some loophole that Sebastian plans to take advantage of? SOMEONE, PUT ME OUTTA MY MISERY. Because given the whole spiel about, like, how Sebastian desperately wants to taste Ciel's soul, and the fact that it looks like Sebastian has NEVER EVER wanted a meal so badly before in his entire demon LIFE, I find it freaking hard to believe that he's bartered Ciel's soul away, for any reason. My guess is that he's going to use this contract to avenge himself on Claude, somehow, and destroy Claude instead (or maybe destroy him before the terms of the contract can even be met?), but I know that it sounds far-fetched, so. Someone explain this to me. :ohno: I'm lost.

---- MEYRIN IS BISEXUAL?????? What was with her salivating over Hannah, Trancy's maid? I thought it was hilarious how she blushed when Hanna licked her fingers, lol. (Well, so did the other Phantomhive servants, but they're guys, they're supposed to get arouse when a lovely lilac-haired lady in a revealing bodice sucks on her own fingers. Just. Meyrin? You wanna tell us something? :D :D

----- Nothing on the planet is going to convince me that Claude isn't using some form of sexual control to keep his already-abused master in line. Yet another thing that makes me hate him, sorta, because it's such a crude way of doing things, compared to Sebastian's pure, flawless professionalism.

....Aaaaaand that's about it. Could someone discuss this ep with me? PRETTY PLEASE? I seriously need to get that whopping revelation about Ciel's soul outta my system, or at least into the air. Lol.

Seriously, does the manga give us any clue about the ritual of soul-claiming that Sebastian plans on doing, in a way that further illuminates this episode? Please help!!!

No. The anime (Both first and second season) has nothing to do with the manga. About halfway through the anime (1. season) they completely stopped following the manga and made a completely new plot. (Angela and Pluto are anime characters only and Sebastian has never even BEGUN to come close to claiming Ciels soul) There is plenty of new characters in the manga, but so far there has not been anyone even remotely similar to Alois and Claude. (The latest important character is a kind author reffered to as "Wordsmith")

Sebastian NEVER says that he will give Claude Ciels SOUL. This is how I saw it;
Sebastian needs Ciel to get his revenge so his soul will be tasty. he plans to do this by faking the proof and setting up the Trancy house as his enemy.

Claude needs Ciel to fullfill Alois wish(wich most likely has something to do with Ciel). However they don't want his soul. After all Claude sucsessfully stole Ciels soul from Sebastian(It's strongly implied in episode 6), but without Ciels body he was useless to Alois.

So; the deal will probably be something like this;
1. At some point Sebastian will LET Claude kidnap Ciel and let Alois do whatever he wants with Ciel. At that point Claude's contract with Alois is probably finished.

2. Claude lets Sebastian rescue Ciel and kill/badly hurt Alois. Then Ciels revenge/wish is fullfilled and Sebastian can eat Ciels soul. Claude then eats Alois soul before he dies.

3. Both Sebastian and Claude gets what they want and can part ways happily.

I have no idea, but in the manga there is a lesbian woman, called Nina, who is really interested in Mey-Rin. She keeps propositioning her and even gropes her breast and other areas under that dress. XD Mey-Rin just kind of blushes, but doesn't tell her to stop or push her away. And When Sebastian tells Mey-Rin to show Nina around she answers with little hearts around the bubble- "Yes" <3<3". (Nina is the seemstress who made Mey-rins maid outfit and who makes all of Ciels clothing. She considers the dress she made for him to be one of her favourites. <3)

The manga is not even getting close to Ciel having his revenge. So, no.

yeah, from what I understand in the manga, Sebastian is waiting for something before he takes Ciel's soul. I remember Ciel saying that Sebastian promised to stay with him forever, no matter what happens and no matter how many people die. I think that it was part of the original contract between them in the manga. So no, there is no indication that Sebastian is going to take Ciel's soul anytime soon.

I just finished watching it today after putting it off for a long time
and I have to say, this was absolute BULL SHIT. What the hell were they trying to do?
I hated the ending and the plot was incredibly pointless, a waste of time.
Thank god the manga is sooo much better.

Well, I just fiinish season 1 and then saw that season two has a new boy who makes a contract, but the thing I want to know is. Is ciel still main character with sebastian or is the new boy the new main character? Because it will be shit if they do it. I just started to love sebastian and ciel, so i totally disapprove when it comes to change the main character :/
Or maybe ciel and the new boy has to share the role of the main charcter? (which is also shit sad)

True biggrin But I just can't hate it. The story was so confusing at first and at some point, I said it was ridiculous and I ought to drop it. But actually, I can't deny, it's pretty interesting dead With Alois (he's just scary and pitiful at the same time) and his past. The ending was satisfactory. I mean
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
true that ciel became a demon and now sebby cant eat him up
but still, it was a good ending. I found season 2 way better than how they adapted the manga in season 1. The 'angela' ark was pretty baffling. What surprised me th most in S2 was
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Hanna and the triplets being demons and mastermind of Alois' grief. How ironic is that?
anime was a bluffer despite being good
But, above all, the manga is the best xD
