Is there actually a guy who does not brush their hair in the
morning or use weird shampoos? I can't even move outside
if my hair is messed up. laugh
It is sometimes terrible when I all the time look
into the mirror if my face is messed up. o.o

I wish my husband liked anime. That would be awesome. But sadly, he doesn't really care about it although he likes some shows. I was already with him when I became an 'otaku', so I never tried to find a guy who liked anime. We actually have almost nothing in common...complete and total opposites in every way, which I think makes us both better. (But at the anime club at my college, not one of the guys there was do-able, which is how I would determine who I wanted to date way back in the day.)

I wouldn't consider myself a female otaku (:3 female: yes, otaku: no). If anything, I'm merely a casual fan - I rarely watch anime and when I do, it's usually only one series at a time. The same goes for manga as well.

To me, otaku is synonymous with fangirl/fanboy. It's hard enough trying to be friends with them; I can't imagine what dating one would be like.

If a guy I'm dating enjoys anime/manga, all the more power to him. However, the guys I go for all tend to be quiet, brains-over-brawn types that would rather enjoy reading a book than playing football. smile Bonus points if he can cook &/or play piano.

My GF was the product manager/designer on DBZ action figures before me. When I first met her (at work) she had all the DB and DBZ action figures at her desk as well as figurines and action figures from Ranma 1/2, Final Fantasy, and others. I was unsure at the time whether she actually liked anime and manga or was just doing it for her job. Upon talking to her about it, I realized she was actually into manga and anime.

A few weeks later I asked her out to see a movie with me and we watched Howels Moving castle at the theater.

It was totally Otaku love at first site. She later confessed that she was not looking for an Otaku to date as we tend to be annoying nerds who have single track minds for anime and Manga and nothing else, but because I also had a personality and showed her I also like horror movies and video games, she gave me a chance.....lol

Guy here.. I've pretty much given up on relationships coz finding a chick who's as into anime/manga as me (and where everything else clicks as well) just seems an exercise in futility.

And it'a not as if I'm a hardcore otaku or anything with a billion figures in my room or anything, but anime and manga does take up a good chunk of each day of mine.. and I'm from a pretty small New Zealand town which certainly limits the pool.

Of course, I could always settle for a regular chick.. but after more than ten years of doing that, I've just come to the realization that once the "honeymoon period" is over and you've heard each other's anecdotes, there's not a whole lot of anything to talk about but yourselves.

Which either = relationship dorama
or
"What'd you do today?", "I went to work.", "Yeah?", "Yeah. It blew.", "True... hmmmm....", "..... .."

BUT, if I could joke about chocolate cornettes and the failure of Raki in Claymore, days would be endless, I tells ya.
(Of course, you don't need to talk a bunch in relationships, like most people.. but then you still gotta do stuff together, and if it's not going to be watching anime... You see? Catch 22)

After reading that, I figure my boyfriend must feel like the luckiest guy in the world. LOL. laugh Especially since the two of us met working at EBGames...

Eeep, I'm in class, so I've got to post and run. I'll be back to join this (fascinating!) conversation in earnest, but just for now, here's why we should go for otaku guys.

this was quite interesting biggrin
honestly, it never crossed my mind to get an otaku boyfriend, first of all because i know that in romania there aren't so many otakus so i've got little chance to find one that will also suit my preferences

Good one...
And I've got an evidence - when my friend (girl, otaku) read the 7th point from this list, she asked me, when we're going on a convention laugh
There is hope for you, guys biggrin
