Guy would rather look at anime girls then me
Guy has no money/jobs
Guy is to lazy
Guy is to nerdy
They are not cute as the guys from animes/mangas
I wanna be the nerd and find a cool boyfriend

I just want a guy who I can hang out with who wants to do spontaneous things like jumping in the car and driving to the beach for the weekend.

I always hate seeing that answer. Mostly because I live at the Beach (Seriously, I am two blocks away from Ocean water), and it's actually not as fun as most would think.

Sure its nice for a vacation, but living here is quite boring.

And yeah, its quite Ironic that a trip for me is traveling inland for fun. Very ironic. biggrin

Ah, well, I've only seen the ocean once in my life. It's a four hour drive from where I am.

Closest bit of water to where I'm at is a creek.

Phew, 14 pages was a pretty long read but I am surprised this topic is going so long. Like the other guys that posted, I am very interested in this topic and I also thought that finding an otaku girlfriend was a dream. Though after reading 14 pages, I've found new hope biggrin and I will be more open rather than trying to hide my "otaku-ism"?

Great topic, hope it continues. I think today or one of the days this week will be exactly one year since I got introduced/addicted to anime/manga laugh

The ocean's not that great either. Sand is gross. It gets stuck on your feet and then in your hair and your scalp and you have to comb your fingernails through your scalp in order to get the sand and ocean shit out of your hair.

For me though, when it comes to hair...I love it smelling yummy~ And bed head...ahh, it's so cute~~ When we first started dating my boyfriend had long hair (just shoulder length), but he ended up cutting it...but I'm totally cool with short hair, so long as there's enough for me to pull on. laugh

Considering I'm an "egoist," I couldn't give a damn about what others think about me. I can do anything I want...including watch anime right in class on my laptop. biggrin On mute though~ Though right now I usually just read manga in my classes and write down the notes other people take during lectures. laugh

Well I just got back from starbucks and i saw a girl reading a manga "school rumble" I think. Anyways I walked up to her and asked her if she had any idea what an otaku was...after getting a few laughs about some other topics i went on to explain to her what it was and she ended up saying, "if thats what an otaku is then that means I am one" she just didn't know the understanding of the word. Anyways i told her about the forums and how I asked how come otaku girls don't ever try to find otaku guys she said to me "its because im shy and normally when I think of anime/manga lovers (guys) the image of a nerd comes to mind". Anyways after talking to her for a few mins I got her number and MSN name.

Photos she just sent me:

CONSTANT VIGILANCE! Pride in geekery!

Lucky. I don't remember when my otakuversaries are. It would take some calculating and poring over release schedules. dead

Ummm...to keep the topic going, here's a question for you otaku guys. Sure you think an otaku girlfriend would be cool, but what if she's *gaspgaspgasp* a hardcore yaoi fangirl? How do you guys react to girls who are into that?

Would not know how to react to that until actual experience I think. But would it be the same if it were the opposite? (hardcore yuri fanboys)

Oh I wanna reply to this 'cause I've dated both otaku and non-otaku guys... here's my thing... even though I like anime a lot, otaku-ness turned out to be a big reason why I broke up with one particular guy.
I think a lot of people who like anime, at least that I know, are sort of either embarrassed or shy about it... as a girl, I will not mention to a guy that I like anime unless I am already pretty sure he will be cool about it. And as far as otaku guys go, a lot of them don't want an otaku girl anyway (at least, the ones I know complain that otaku girls are not cute/too weird or whatever...) So this guy I was with, I think he had an inferiority complex that was somewhat related to his being a unpopular or whatever. Eventually this bothered me because he was either (1) embarrassingly grateful that I wanted to be with him (I like guys who have their shit together... not guys who think a girlfriend is going to fix their life) or (2) sometimes had the attitude that 'we otakus have to stick together' ie, that just because I liked anime somehow we were paired up together, ie, two losers against the world.
This kind of attitude either way will only make you depressive... so i think that, as far as dating another anime fan, I would only date one who was totally not ashamed of his hobby. There are lots of cool people out there who like anime but it is not the main way that they will identify themselves, ie, they have lots of other things going on and other interests. These guys are awesome. But if the guy is a true otaku - ie, super-obsessive lover of anime, with little else going on - he is probably not good relationship material for any number of reasons.

Hmmm I guess it would come down to a whether or not I was asked to watch the yuri, I mean I'm into yaoi so I can't really criticize a yuri fan but I also don't find yuri appealing.

The male otakus I know don't get dates from female otaku fans because they generally don't have social skills and fall into the otaku generalization of geeky-ness or they are more interested in computer games than girls.

Clothes. I buy what ever can last the longest. Shopping isn't my thing. >_>
I buy books/manga with my money more than I buy clothes. x)

After arriving from school, I realise that there's not an otaku (or a possible otaku) in sight. no

The 1st one's really dead , otaku or not. lol at the 2nd one, never thought about it that way though... but yea it would suck if that's the only thing that got you together.

laugh I'm both of a yaoi and yuri fan though.. so I guess that would never bother me. I'm actually just supportive of gay relationships in general.

From what I'm gathering, it's just a myth that otaku girls don't go for otaku guys.

I think I know.. 2 Otaku guys, wouldn't date either of them. They're dating each other so it'd be kinda weird. XD But I know lots of Otaku people. Especially my ex. There's a store by the movie theater we usually hang out at and she bought Kirara ears or something and went bowling with them not to mention her bedroom wall, hardly any room to hang any more posters. But yeah most of my friends are otaku's, and are mostly girls XD

I'd date an otaku guy, as long as he didn't ignore me for the anime babes XD
