Question for Female Otakus

Poll
Why do girl Otakus never try to find guy otakus?
Guy would rather look at anime girls then me
Guy has no money/jobs
Guy is to lazy
Guy is to nerdy
They are not cute as the guys from animes/mangas
I wanna be the nerd and find a cool boyfriend
Why find a boyfriend to busy with anime/manga

I'm dating a guy otaku. bigrazz True, we don't like the same animes, but we do have some animes we do like. He isn't much into manga, but yeah. Either way, I'd definately date a guy otaku. o.o~

I'm not a smoker personally, but I know a lot of otakus who are.

i don't think that many otakus (i hate to use this term, its real meaning is more extreme than what i am meaning) would be into drugs.

my reasoning is that usually drug habits begin through the influence of peers, often "popular" groups. an anime fan usually would not likely be absorbed into such groups easily, and therefore less likely to be negatively influenced.

plus drugs are often an escape, anime and manga can forfil these rolse heh bigrazz

God, haven't got the time to read 54 pages, so i'll just toss my opinion at you.

The first anime i saw was FMA, me and a guy friend had few all-nighters watching it. I miss those times very much.
I would definitely like to have some quality arguments after watching anime together etc. I don't think I could even have a long-lasting relationship with someone who didn't understand my obsession.
At times, it feels like a 19-year-old girl shouldn't be reading manga every goddamn day, but luckily, that feeling disappears quickly.

p.s. i think i'd watch/read hentai/yuri/yaoi with my SO. that would be...arousing(=

The reason I wouldn't go for a guy otakus is simple. I've dated guy otakus and they make the worse boyfriends. It so god damn annoying when you can't get a guy to talk about something else besides anime/manga/games. And it's even worse when they can't talk about anything else because they don't know anything else. It's even more annoying when they can't shut up about an anime/manga/game you don't like or hate. Guy otakus, IMO, are less mature and more irresponsible. They would rather buy an anime/manga/game instead of a box of condoms and get mad when their girlfriend won't give them any. Are guys even aware of how much birth control costs or what a girl has to do to get it? It's a lot cheaper and less embarrassing for your girlfriend if you just get some condoms, especially considering that you can get condoms for free if you go to health services.

Another problem with guy otakus is that you're lucky to find one with a job and if he has one, it's because his parents cut him off and now he has to support his habit. It's also harder to get them to take you on a date. Either they are in a party and can't leave, their friends are coming over to play/watch the new game/anime they got, they don't have money cuz they just spent it on anime/manga/games and the list goes on.

I love anime and manga and some games, but it seems like guy otakus have no way of prying themselves from that world. Girl otakus, on the other hand, seem to realize there is more to the world than anime, manga and games. Your otakus girlfriend might be happy to watch anime with you, swap mangas and join you in a game, but if you can't or aren't willing to join the real world, it'll never workout because no matter how much of an otakus she is, she is going to want to be in the real world at some point and do what non-otakus do.

I feel bad that you had to date a jerk >.< Maybe that's for the extreme otakus, hope they're not all that. But sometimes, the so called "nice guys", aren't.

We (two otaku's) have read your post and have to say a few things about it:

You say that otaku's only talk about anime/manga and games but the opposite is true. We barely speak about it except with another otaku when we have seen a new anime or something. To non- otaku's we never speak about anime/manga and games. Also you say that we can't talk about other things besides otaku- stuff but this isn't true either. Cuz else we wouldn't speak at all.
You can't just say that otaku's are less mature and more irresponsible then "normal guys" cuz this just depends on the guy itself. And also only the extreme otaku's would rather buy an anime/manga/game then a box of condoms. The biggest amount would probably buy the second, the box of condoms.
Another point is that we otaku's have a job, and it's not because our parents cut us off. We have the jobs too finance things "normal guys" would buy, like a drivers license and a 32" LCD tv. We don't just spent our money on manga/anime or games.
Also about the date thing:
When somebody would ask for a date or just going out, we wouldn't hesitate to break up the party. We don't only have otaku friends, most of them are "normal people" so nobody comes by my place to watch anime. Why would we go to somebody else to watch anime, while we can watch it at home. About the money for the date, we always have enough because we don't use all our money on anime/manga/games. Second, we don't like to be broke. Last, if we unexpectedly become broke, we can always rely on our "secret stash" if neccesary. About the list, what list?!
You also say that guy otaku's are stuck too much in the "manga/anime world", but this also depends on the person(how extreme he is). But this can also occur with a girl otaku. And here you say that guy otaku's only do otaku stuff, but we're otaku's and do non- otaku stuff too. And about how much non- otaku stuff you do, depends on how much of a otaku you are.

This was the post, enjoy! biggrin

...

I'm sorry but I tried to read both posts but unfortunatly lost interest.

I don't look for guy otaku's, because they probably are embaressed about it. And then I never find out. Guys get a little freaked out after i've watched a drama or finished a cute manga.

I also don't want a guy now, and finding one would be such a hassle, much less an otaku.

Well its simple, i spend enough time on it and don't want to be stuck talking about it all day...it'd get boring very VERY easily....that's like asking a stripper why they wouldn't date a male escort ^.^
