I dunno. It must be this inner nerd in me or something that just screams happy and melts into pieces when I see a man in soldier uniform in love. Like whoa. Authority is awesome, humanity even better. Someone please assure me I'm not alone. D8

Basically, I'm looking for a military setting, military feel, or something military set in the modern day, or at least a time period where they had guns. Nothing fantasy like Fullmetal Alchemist, please, but realistic in the way that you could believe it could happen; our real life.

Of course, 'military type' can be as sparse as just with the uniform, but if there's a military itself, I'd like it to be the army, I guess. The other party can be equally military, or ordinary citizen, or something. Just I want it to be het, please, because I feel so awkward when it comes to yaoi or shonen-ai or yuri or shoujo-ai in the military setting. It doesn't have to be strictly romance, and the romance can just be a side thing that you squee at and point whenever it comes on. :>

An example, I guess would probably being Meisai Harem. Then again, I'm just judging it from the cover, so erk? But something like Toshokan Sensou: Spitfire!, Pumpkin Scissors or Appleseed.

Full Metal Panic!--I personally preferred the anime, they are more of a private organization than an army but the dude is a soldier and the girl is a civilan so hopefully that works for you.

KURIHASHI Shinsuke military works include Kurogane Pukapuka Tai and a chapter from Maniac Road.

Netsu no Ori set inWW 2. Yaoi though.

Senjou no Valkyria - Wish Your Smile

Pumpkin Scissors - looking at the aftermath of a long-term war, with guns and tanks, although the whole idea of the Invisible Nine does require some suspension of disbelief. Has a slow paced romance that can be adorkable.

Oops, you already mentioned it. biggrin
