The status says '9 volumes (hiatus)', but it looks like some vol. 10 chapters have been released... BUT that could be wrong, and I don't want to get back into reading this series if I'm going to be left hanging in the end! Could someone explain whether this manga is still on hiatus? Otherwise I won't know whether to resume reading it! Thanks. smile

Hey Tartufo! :3

It could be that the 9th volume was the most recent tankoubon(book) version of the manga published. The chapters from volume 10 could be from the magazine, where they publish individual chapters first (and it isn't compiled into a book form yet.)

So.. I'm assuming it really is on hiatus, and volume 10 may not be out for a while, but there are still some chapters that may have been/were published in the magazine before Kouga announced the hiatus.

I've dropped loveless for over a year, so I'm not sure on this.. but I don't know how up-to-date the scanlation group is for the series, so I'm not sure if the latest release is caught up to the hiatus point.

Anywho, I hope I helped!

Hmm, well, I'm always confuse as to what MU means by hiatus on that section. Does it mean the author's on hiatus or that the publication of the series is on hiatus? @__@

Because I know that Loveless is one of those series where the English releases (Tokyopop) and foreign releases (French, Spanish, German) are ahead of the Japanese releases. So maybe that's why it says hiatus on 'Status in Country of Origin'. =O

Edit: Someone pointed this out...<_< But I mean that foreign releases are ahead because they probably use the magazine chapters~ It's like eccentrrick says, the tankoubon may be on hiatus but the chapters are still being serialized in magazines~

Actually, I think it's something like this; even though Zero-Sum is a monthly magazine, up lately, Kouga Yun has not been putting out chapters in every issue of it - instead going on an every-three-month (roughly) basis. She is also rumoured to be working on some other series, giving it precedence over Loveless. If you want to read a lot of chapters in one go, I think you should wait a while. Chapters 81-83 (which have been scanlated recently) are from volume 10; but they are mostly filler and have little to do with the plot none

BaeSooky wasn't exactly correct in saying that the English volume release is ahead of the Japanese one. It's simply very close - unlike for most manga, where there is a large gap of months or even years between Japanese and English releases. Still, I don't think the English version of book 10 will be out for at least a year yet, since volume 9 has also not being published.

But I don't think the 'on hiatus' tag is exactly accurate. It should be something like; 'low release frequency' laugh
