Oversized breasts are mostly in the Shounen, and sometimes Seinen demographic. Probably because guys like breasts... At any rate, I'm not interested in 3D girls anymore, which is a shame, I guess. It's not that I haven't tried, but it was more experimenting, because people always experiment in college.

In north america, we don't have girls with giant boobs, sure their boobs are photoshoped. but not in a way that it would look unnatural,

I think they are just to attract more male readers, japanese people seem more conscious about breasts than people from countries the girls have them.

About the eyes I think it has to do with how expressive big eyes are, they give manga a special touch. I don't think they have to do with small eye complex since they existed even in a less western japan, even before the breast size grew.

Buut

I think if you are going to talk about something unrealistic talk about their asses, I have seen japanese girls with boobs but I have NEVER seen a japanese girl with an ass. Not even in Brazil with all the race mixing.

The large eyes are because it makes it easier for people to see emotion in a 2d setting. It has nothing to do with race. The body types are also idealized versions of what people want to see, although when they get too large it's clearly just purely for fanservice.

Manga may be older but this particular art style is still young.
This particular art style was majorly influenced by Disney works as said by the man many consider the kami-sama of anime & manga.

I speak of course, of my God and Hero. Osamu Tezuka.

He himself said that he was influenced by Disney works and he is ThE SOLE INVENTOR of te large eyes style we see today.

True True, Osamu Tezuka drawings are surely influenced heavily by some older western comics(at first they were identical), but note that the big eyes wasn't one of their caracteristics. In truth, you would have to ask Tezuka himself to know if he did what he did because of the expression or because he wanted bigger eyes. Saying Tezuka didn't make the big eyes is the same as saying he did nothing but western comics.

Um, you can say that the large eyes style was not due to an influence from Western media, but I find that extremely hard to believe. An influence on art doesn't just fade like that, he has to have inspiration from somewhere. Maybe suddenly Tezuka-sensei woke up one day and said "waaa, ooki no hitomi! Subarashi!", but it's far easier to believe that he took the larger eyes concept from
Western media and just exaggerated it.

Huum, now I see that the problem between us is just a difference in the concept of creation.

I say someone created something when he was the first to do that way, it's obvious he took inspiration in something, the eye style from disney: dots and something that resembles an eye ,even tough is not white, in the corners? Probably.

You take the concept of creation more literally, something that just happened. In this sense I have to agree, it's almost impossible that he created the style since I have never seen anyone creating(in the literal sense) anything.

Exactly, every action has an inspiration. There is nearly nothing completely original. So, the pount here is to find the source of inspiration ;D.

For all we know it could be he saw some cute girl with large eyes. But most likely Western influence.

Japan copied comics from America, starting as early as the 1910s with short magazine pieces like this during a time when everything "Western" was very in. Japanese comics continued to be little different from their American counterparts until Tezuka, whose was heavily inspired by Disney; his earlier works hardly deviate at all from Disney style. It wasn't really his works but the popularity his works brought to the manga medium that started manga on its path to being so enormously different from any other kind of comic art.

As for the breasts, they might too are just another Japanese idealization of "Western" culture. They're there for the same reason that nearly every manga character has fair skin and large eyes with double creases. Breasts have not traditionally been particularly eroticized in Japanese history. Just look at the accoutrements of geisha, the sexiest dressers of their day; they wore their kimonos very low in the back to show off the napes of their necks, but in the front they're wrapped up from ankle to neck in an outfit that de-accentuates every curve. Even shunga rarely accentuate breasts.
