You know what would solve this? Let's be Communist! Communist yay! No. Everything should be based on merit, not race, creed, gender, or anything. If a person is better they should do better and have better things.

Of course men can be discriminated against, but I think you are missing the main point. The reason the law will side more with women these days is because the balance is still way too precarious. People still discriminate against women in how they think of them and how they treat them in day to day life, and so it is necessary for the law to side with them. As a people we simply aren't at a point yet, and may never be, at which we mentally view women and men as the same.
The thing is, equality is not everyone getting the same thing but everyone getting exactly what they need, and I'm sorry, but after thousands of years of sexism and discrimination against women, I think they have a little more need than men right now.
People who think the battle for women's rights is over are wrong. Right now we as a people are on a very precarious ledge, and if we didn't have some of the very same laws that some people think are unfair to men, we could very easily end up taking few hundred steps backwards, and women would be back where they were when our grandmothers were children. Not equal at all.

I didn't want to being this up, but any woman who just try to be a woman and not try to be a man don't need "equal rights" (Not saying this in an offensive way, if you have to take it as offense, ask yourself this would you want to marry a girly man?)
My mom never did those things and she never yells or anything. One of the woman those feminists thinks that causes no woman rights.
But, believe me, my mom was the one in charge of the family from the day I started to remember things. Me and my dad has no say, none.

Agreed. We just dont need to give a damn about this... Because at least both males and females can work and gain money... Though it really depends on where and what you are... Racism is probably a more important topic.

When I said 'People aren't born as equals' what I was trying to say was that everyone has things that they are better at than others. For example, no one is equally as good at playing the guitar as someone else.
People may be equal when it comes to social statuses but other than that they aren't.
I'm not really trying to imply anything I'm just giving what I think is a fair opinion.

Well I'd say the problem with this is very much like with the air pollution;
-We as Society and Countries know what need's to be done and how to do it, the only obstacle we face is our on greed and personal intresst.
Same here, there are alot of things with sexcism that we can do (because I doubt I'm the only one that thought of it
), this is a problem in the most fundamental part of ourself, the subconsius part of ourself, the part from which we judge everything before we think, the part of us that set's our indivdual standards.
And our subconsius starts to develop from the start, and escpecially in young age there is a bigger diffrence between how you treat a girl and a guy.
If we think by the fact that our experience's shape us and make us grow, then the younger you are the fewer experinece's you have, and then by logical terms, your the less shaped and have grown less, in other words your closer to the point of origin (were you started) which would be your birth, when one is born, the only experince's you ahve are from sound and touch in your mothers womb, in otherwords you haven't experienced much, nor grown much, your at that point very, very, very similar/equal in mentality/who you are with other of the same age.
Sorry if I got to sidetracked there, what I wanted to point out is that the older you grow the more unique you become, and children (young children) are therefore less unique from each other and they are very similar in their intresst and behavior,
yet their "Toy's" are so Diffrent, already there do we begin to seperate them with a big wide line of what's male and female, and young children are easily influenced.
Another thing is cartoon's,
How often do the girl get hurt? How often to the Guy get hurt? In the cartoon serie's is the Guy or the Girl the "smart"? Is there even one female footsoldier in a cartoon? One male nurse, receptionist?
Someone commented on how men can't be "Defiled" or "Deflowered", I'd say the base to that subconsious attitude starts in the young days with the male cartoon's being seen in their underware, while they would never show a girl's, it's almost as if it's sacred ground in a cartoon.
Well, I'll tell you one thing, when you hear about a robbery, murder or rape and you don't wonder what genders were involved, THEN were Equals.
But wondring what the which genders were involved is a start.
Well, I could contiune to bash society and leave the solutions to others but I'll stop here ^^, I like the comments from alot of you.
I'll finish of with a story of from when I was younger (11-12):
On the lunch break my class usally played a game two team game against each other with random team up's, One day there's a comment;
-Why don't we play Girl's against Guy's?
and that is how it became, it started of good, no one really scored an it was quite even, but the girl's threw the ball shorted the the guy's so we couldn't catch them before they hit the ground (there's a bonus if you catch them), but the field is split in two sides and your allowed ti move as you wish on yuor side while you allways has to throw over the middle line from the throw line.
So I got the idea of going closer to the middle line to catch the balls because the girls added a rule that said that if the threw the ball to far they got extra score's (to make it harder) and even it out a bit.
But when I went forth the became really mad, because according to them I wasn't allowed to go forth and cather their balls while they where allowed to go back to catch our's.
As I failed to see the sound part in their argument I stayed there.
The girls suddenly started to add more and more rule's that made it not just unfavorable for the guys but plain unfair, yet for some reason the guys opinion didn't matter.
When the break ended one of the girl's came forth to me and some followed a bit behind her, and she starts to insult and badmouth me, as a reasult I do the same,
This however only got her even more angry, and suddenly while insulting me (again) she stepped forth and slapped me.
Without a second to loss I slapped back even harder, and she, the girls and the guys were looking at me as if I were some kind of madman, then she suddenly shout;
-You Hit ME!!!
Me -Ofcouse I did, You hit ME!!!
Her -But you can't hit ME!!!
Me -Why!!!(in the world)
Her -Because I'm a Girl!!!
at that point I went speachless, however it ended there and I was called in to the teachers to listen to why you shouldn't hit a girl, that day I was shocked and for teh first time realised that I had a very diffrent veiw of things comperade to others.

To add to the topic of double standard. I think both sexes have messed up views, and only communication between the two and the lowering of your standards can fix it.
Example: Most men want their wives to; Make some money, clean the house/cook, look after kids, maintain a calm steady life and maintain an acceptable (usually inaccurate to real life) appearance.
However on the flip side, most women want their men to; Have a decent career and steady pay, still have enough free time to pay attention to her and the kids, do the majority of the providing, maintain a calm steady life and maintain an acceptable (again usually inaccurate to real life) appearance.
But that is all bullshit propaganda fed to us by companies/media outlets so you'll buy crap thinking it will solve those problems. You don't need an ass like Beyonce or abs like Brad Pitt, nor do you need to make 10 mil a year and go to Tahiti every summer to enjoy life. Both sexes can cook just as well, both can clean a house, both can raise a child and in order to have a certain Zen-like quality of life you have to work for it.
It's time we throw out the childish roles of husband and wife and live as 2 human beings that love & support each other in the same fashion. Not I'll work my ass off at a job I hate while you stay at home miserable and lonely watching the kids.
I dunno, my 2 cents. Although that was long enough for a dollar.

*smirks* Your argument is flawed on many levels. If you want true equality then make it so. Giving women more advanteges in the law system makes for an unfair balance = not equal.
You say women get payed less but did you know that there is a weight restriction for what women can carry at the work place. If broken servier suing is welcome, this is possibly why it is easier for men to get physycal labour work.
Buisness however is different, I don't think there are much cases if not any, of women geting paid less for the same job position. ________________
