Uhhh maybe? I like girls in shounen as fighters, enemies or something like that. Since if only guys fighting, it would be too boring because no variations in characters. But if it's like the shitty heroines who clings to the hero or so, uhh just no.

And also if there are only guys, it will be so gay. So better with girls for variations.

I agree with this a lot, it usually becomes a breeding ground for a yaoi subplot when all the characters are male. But then again I find that better then the heroines whose only worth is "acting as wife" or the damsel in distress. I could only take so much of just pure fighting though, if there's a plot and some comedy with preferably some female characters with personalities, I'm all for it.

If its something like not too much girls, then its fine... If they're too much girls, it would probably be annoying. Though I dont mind some romance, however as long as its not too much. I like to read manga for the plot and art anyway.
biggrin

even if there are girls...i have a feeling its going to turn out as BL b/w naruto X sasuke mad

I love you for saying that biggrin

Anyway HELL YES , if I want to read a manga with loads of girls there's always should but if its action I'd prefer no girls especially weak ones just there for fan service cry but I don't mind if they are strong , I just hate shrunken mangos with weak girls that the main protagonist always has to go saving

Anyway if you can recommend one of those to me with no girls I would love it bigrazz

I wonder whether a manga or anime like that exist ?

If you mean that there isn't any girl in main cast , it seem to me that it's ok biggrin

Such as : Hikaru no go ,king gofl , prince of tennis ....

Beside , there are also a lot of manga whose main char is a girl or a girl group ,like K-on,Sailor moon....

Hunter X Hunter counts as a long shonen with no girls, right? Because in it, there is no romance and stuff between the few female characters and the main (young?) boy characters...

I find HXH quite entertaining so... Hell yes? Or 'maybe'... I mean, like, HXH involves an actual plot, not just guys p ...

omg that totally slipped my mind
the girl with most appearences are biscuit, alluka, and palm. and they're bascially arc-only character.

palm was sorta romantically plotted with the main character though bigrazz

on the other hand...does hetalia axis power count?

I much prefer a manga with no girls to a manga with badly-written girls. Series like Jojo and Toriko, for example, often barely have any female characters around, but I found that Much more preferable to how a series like Naruto treats most of its female characters.

Shounen with well-written girls > Shounen with no girls > Shounen with badly-written girls.

Rather than no girls at all or with some girls as important chars (or main). I'd rather have something with a few girls, but they aren't some main chars, nor that it matters even if they were actually a guy. hunter x hunter really is a perfect example, I think...
And for me, main girls often get in the way, strong nor weak. I really despised Sakura mad

Shounen with well-written girls ...

When reading Toriko, I kept thinking... where's the girl? Why the girl is not plenty?
But then again;
I prefer like this.

Shounen with lots and many well-written girls > with decent well-written girls > with less girls > with badly-written girls> with no girls.

Oh, and I pick maybe on the poll.

No girls' shounen?
Definitely ok for me ~ for example Takahashi Hiroshi's works.
Although I prefer seinen to shounen. wink

lol, my thoughts exactly!

I prefer to read shounen/seinen for the action so romance feels kinda gay to me. I also appreciate good comedy and interesting characters. Though I don't actively look for manga with all-male casts I surprisingly end up liking them more.

Mostly because girls get shitty ...

I don't think I've ever read anything that better summed up my thoughts on female roles in shounen manga ever. Thank you.

I love that, not that into all that excessive ecchi girls who keep ending in compromising positions and ripped clothing (I still read them such as History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi and Dragon Rioting).

Also can't stand tsudere girls.

I loved Baki and manga that are similar to it (e.g. Tough, Garouden, etc.)
