Discuss the comic book series/TV show here.

WARNING: If you're going to talk about the comic book, use spoilers because some people have only seen the show and aren't that far into the comics.

Anyway, I've been re-reading the comics after I watched the first 2 episodes and I like how the TV show expands from the comics by taking a slower pace and introducing new characters as well as new scenes.

I watched the first two episodes and then decided to try the comic... I have since stopped reading the comic and am eagerly awaiting the next episode of the tv show. The comic was just way to fast for me. I like the slow pace of the show and how they expand on the characters and take their time on developing them.

To be honest, there was something kind of, eh, about the acting in the show.

They did a good job getting an actor that actually looks like Rick though.

I only caught a single part of one episode on T.V., and I fell in love with it!

Spoiler (highlight to view)
It was a scene where an "infected" man chose to stay behind because 1) he was in pain 2) he didn't want to be a burden and 3) he wanted to be with his family. The rest of the group discussed it and let him choose. I thought it was a beautiful moment and realistic in terms of what would probably happen if the situation were real.

I thought it was a movie at first, and I thought: "Wow! What movie is this?? I have to rent it!" when I discovered it was a T.V. series (and now I know it's a book series!) I was surprised.
I want to follow the series properly now biggrin

I'm surprised it took me so long to get into this series, considering how much I like zombie stuff.

I enjoyed it. Going to check out the comic book now and wait on S2.

It started airing here three weeks ago (today's ep number 3~).
I really enjoyed the first episode. It was quite thrilling.
And although the second one was different, it was still pretty good.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
But seriously? That sex scene? You Americans...

I'm also pretty sure that's what my father saw when I tried making him watch it. laugh

I wanted to download the comics last week but forgot. bigrazz
Will make another attempt today. Proly.

As to what I think about it...
Well, I dunno. For some reason I always watch the zombie flick and my impression on this one is still to be determined. Out of the bunch of new series floating, this one takes the cake for me.
Gore is fun.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Poor horse though...

Watch the first season and looked a a few comic volumes. Really enjoyed it and can't wait for more.

Hadn't really known about it when it first aired on AMC. Actually, I'm rather surprised it was from AMC. Would have expected this from Syfy/Space.

I was really surprised by the ending of the episode, I didn't expect this. However, it's the only thing I liked, the rest of the episode was either boring and pathetic or overly dramatic.

The part when they were hiding from those zombies was good to me, but I agree with the other parts that weren't in the ending to be overly dramatic. But I did think the 2nd episode was dragging out the part with Carl a bit too long.

Plus, with the way the preview for the 3rd episode looks, I think that Shane and Theodore are gonna die soon.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I think so mainly because in the comic, Shane died WAY before they even left the camp due to Carl shooting him in the neck when he was about to attack Rick. Looks like they're gonna try to paint Shane in a positive light for the TV show (And probably because they can't portray a kid shooting an adult and call it a good thing due to moral guardians). And the fact that Theodore is a TV-only character seeing how the group (Save Rick) didn't meet a black person before they met Tyreese.

Every ep I watch is such a cliffhanger, luv this series
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I feel Lori was so useless. Why couldnt she give blood? Then Rick could go with Shane and Otis. I cant believe Shane was so cruel...couldn't he have shoot Otis in the head,it would have been more humane. (my thoughts on ep3)

From what I recall the zombies are more attracted to live flesh than dead meat. Although it would take days for the flesh to decompose, a live person is always better bait material. There's a chance that the horde of zombie would prioritize a moving target over a fresh corpse. At least that's what I think was floating around in Shane's head.

All in all it seems to be a fair trade imo. They wouldn't had made it out there w/o sacrificing either one of themselves and Otis was the one responsible for this incident to begin with.

It's true that they never mention why Lori didn't offer to partake with the blood transfusion. I guess it would ruin the plot device that is of Otis death/Shane's little dirty secret if Rick tagged along.
