I already knew about most of them. For all the manga I read that I enjoyed, I check up on the mangaka's other works and I usually read the bio and related information. It's become a bit of a habit of mine because when you've read something really amazing or just so well done you want to know about the person who came up with it and it should be obvious their other works would appeal to you as well.

Already knew some of them... like FMA...
But Saiyuki's mangaka is a woman?? Wow. I thought it was a guy since she always draws herself as a man... or at least it looked like a guy with long hair...

The only one I was really surprised at was the mangaka of Saint Young Men. The rest were moderately unsurprising for me...

i was suprised that OKAMOTO Lynn was a man XD
Well, none of these manga here suprised me, and ichigo 100% was kinda obivous if you read the story. And if you look up the manga from the author you´ll find two shounen-ai works.
Anyways women can draw good shounen, best examples are FMA, Kuroshitsuji, Pandora Hearts and D.Grey Man.
Is there anywhere a list about popluar shoujo drawn by men?

Luck stealer - It's a pretty manly manga. ;o

Enigma - The story as for now looks very solid and complex, it's something I'd expect more to be from a man's mind.

Sekirei - that mangaka has to be a good wife!!

Hitman Reborn.... I hate the bitch who destroyed such a good story.

Wow...

For a while, I thought that TANABE Yellow and the authors of Whistle and Shoot are male.

actually, in the volumes it´s pretty obvious because the way how she portrays herself and her everydaylife reminds much of the columns in shoujo manga. In many manga there are hints of the mangakas gender in the story and the columns
Cake castles... i can´t think of any man who could have come up with this

Well, i wouldn´t be suprised if Hidekazu-sensei would turn out to be a women. The blog is a bit to cute (just look at 2010⁄12⁄05) and there are barely women, but many pretty man....

Wow. Talk about sexist. There are tons of mangas written by women that are complex and tons of manga written by men that are superficial and filled with pointless writing. Just saying.

I'm just surprised by a lot from the thread. I guess sometimes even women love to do ecchi mangas.

xD Lol, it wasn't meant to be sexist, the fact is that men have a more "logic-type" mind while women generally think more abstract. And by the way, if you say "tons" prove it with AT LEAST two examples and follow with an "etc." Basically, without that, it's as true as saying: "(Wo)men are better than (wo)men. Just saying."

Agreed. Women and men are different, its not sexist to be surprised that a really good male-like manga was written by a female. And he never once said that females couldn't write solid, good manga.

what?! mangaka for whistle, kekkashi, and emma were woman?
I would have never thought that...
oh, about that
it is scientifically proven that women reach their full maturity level at age 21 while men reach it at age 30. So women are more "mature" then men at an earlier age (9 years difference~!)

edit- sigh- I didn't mean sexual maturity I meant mental
