the more blood the better

the more mature or seinen also the better although i am very exceptive to shounen

hmm it seems that 1/2 Prince is a shoujo, i am particlarly interested in shounen or seinen

onepiece is too far for me to catch up on

It's hard to find someone as "pure" as Gon, but these might work:

Blue Dragon - Ral Grado Ral Grad. Although the lead is obsessed with boobs, he does have that "pure" aura.

Tiji-kun! This is a fight manga, but again the main char has that feeling to him. This one is more realistic.

And there are a lot of sports manga like that, but few of them are "blood'y"

Also just thought of O-Parts Hunter (or 666 Satan) The lead is obsessed with taking over the world. (And is more annoying than Gon)
And Fairy Tail is a lot like One Piece (scarily so), but it's not as far along, and easier to get into..
Ao no Exorcist would probably fit too.

Regardless of how long it is, I second or third One Piece, the length is nothing compared to the story itself.

I refused to read HunterxHunter because it had such a head start, then I caved in, and I loved it.

Not to mention One Piece is so darn engrossing that it reads really quickly. With the holiday season upon us OP could easily burn through chapters 1 through 608 in two days if he has free time.

As for OP's request, it is almost impossible. He's asking for a cliche, the character he wants is pretty much the archetype for all Shounen adventure manga.

No, no, 1/2 Prince is shounen. ^^; The only shoujo part about it is the art (mostly just the eyelashes), and that gets more shounen-ish as the series progresses.

1/2 prince is definitely worth reading but I don't know if he/she is like Gon. I can kind of see where the shoujo part comes from though since the author is a girl and you can see some more feminine behavior from the characters. Not that that's a bad thing however, it kind of adds to the humor.

agreed,one piece isreally good and you will catch up really easy cause it is addicting.and if you want a shounen with a innocent guy op is wat you are looking for
