Inuyasha were both my first but I saw the English dub of the anime...not the worst.

Saint Seiya was, sadly, my first manga. I'd like to have a cool 1st time D:
My first anime was Card Captor Sakura. I remember that when a child I used to play with a few cousins with Sakura's cards ~

My very first manga was A.I. Love You. One of my friends gave it to me when I was a sophomore in high school when I read it. Thought it was good at the time, but of course, everybody thinks that their first were good at the time.
And my very first anime was...Sailor Moon. At the time, I didn't know what anime was at the time. All I knew was that the girls were fine, so I decided to watch it. I didn't care about the plot, all I cared about was that the girls would be okay at the end of the episode.
And I never saw the Japanese sub, only the horrid English dub.

ベルサイユのば ら (Rose of Versailles) , by Riyoko Ikeda. Go, go androgyny. No, but, really. It was an awesome experience to have read the manga.
First anime though was ..... the ghibli film " Whisper of the Heart". I still find myself humming " Country Road" to this day.

Hmm... I know I watched Starzinger as a small kid... and then I saw some animes some years later, some ninja movie, Urotsukidoji, Monster city (i think...)... and maybe some more. I didn't really become interested then though.
It took a lot of years until I finally watched Howl's Moving Castle before I realized how awesome anime really is =). Then I watched Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop and Love Hina. Somehow I found out that Love Hina was based on a manga (damn I wasn't very knowledgeable by then) and that the manga storyline apparently continued after the anime. So I got hold of the manga somehow and read it. So Love Hina is the first manga series!
Now I'm a regular here. =)

My first manga was Pretear.
Same here. If you count the Americanized stuff, probably Voltron (but not its predecessor, GoLion). I also liked the Ronin Warriors and Sailor Moon series as a teen. (The OVAs stunk though.)
If you don't count the main-stream Americanized stuff, then I really don't remember what my first anime was. It was probably a movie and not a series though. I know Princess Mononoke wasn't my first, but it was one of the earliest because I kept hearing so much about it. (It didn't thrill me, for whatever reason.)

It might just be Voltron. But that was before I knew about anime.
I just thought it was some type of American cartoon.

I guess that I'll have to say first anime was Pokemon, the American version. I don't really watch fansubbed/original language animes... first manga was probably Rurouni Kenshin.
