From Wikipedia:
Amnesia does not give the player access to weapons, giving them no defense against the gruesome creatures that wander Brennenburg Castle. As such, the player must use their wits to escape and hide from the monsters until they lose interest in finding the player. However, monsters are very capable of tearing down doors in their path and kicking obstacles out of the way. Players can also choose to hide in the shadows at the cost of slowly losing their sanity. Another thing Daniel [the character's name] can do is barricade doors with rocks, chairs, and other obstacles. But the monsters do move very quickly when alerted, so the player has to be quick.

Have you heard of this game? What do you think of it?
In my opinion, this game looks like a true survival horror. No weapons being the main reason. Not only that, but you only have two options: Hide from the monsters, risking what's left of your sanity, or try and outrun them. Either way, it's a risk. I also think the controls look pretty good, and the amount of things you can do with the player is pretty good, as well. Learning to be stealthy and making barricades, etc.
I admit though I'm too much of a wuss to actually try it. My friend who plays it tells me that the best way to play it is in a dark room with headphones on (for maximum thrill).

Not scary enough or too scary?

I own the game so I can say its well done. The guys who made this understood the real meaning of horror. Too many of the current horror/survival games start off great but as soon as you pick of the game's version of the bfg or plasma rifle, the horror just vanishes. No bfg or rifles to pick up in this game so you are stuck running for your life the entire time.

The voice acting is rubbish, the ending is poor, a lot of the puzzles just involve throwing rocks at stuff, there is one type of monster, and dying hardly matters at all. It does have some genuinely creepy moments, but anyone breaking into screams is a wally.

Its alright, only two times did i get really freaked out, the ghouls were fun to run from, and the only things that scared me were one of those pop up events, where you walk up to something and it opens scaring the shit outta you.

The one thing i disliked was why you couldn't hold the fucking candles, you could grab and use anything not planted into the room but you couldn't grab the candles ;-; which made no sense cuz the protagonist goes batshit crazy when he strays from light.

Hands down the scariest game in a long time.
I thought Dead Space was scary...then THIS came out.
