I'm looking for a manga with a good male lead character. Some one like whats-his-face from Princess Mononoke is perfect, or maybe someone like Allen from D.Gray-man. Just someone who is a good person, and who abhors killing. Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin might work, but I want someone less silly (though I do love Kenshin . . . )
Anyway, here's the catch. I want there to be action but I don't want there to be extensive battle scenes - that's what turned me off about D. Grayman (though I'm definitely not looking for a high school shoujo), the plot should be intriguing, and if there is a romance then the female MUST BE THE MAIN CHARACTER OR AT LEAST AS IMPORTANT AS THE MAIN CHARACTER. Otherwise, please no romance. (By the way, in the example of Kenshin, I count Kaoru as the main character since she appeared in the beginning of the first chapter).
Note: Actually, Superior might work very well, except that I hate the main character. Otherwise . . . yeah. You get my point.
Oh, and please no ecchi or hentai. Or yaoi or yuri (shounen-ai is ok, I guess, though I doubt there is a shounen-ai that fits my requirements.)
Thanks.

Fullmetal Alchemist might work. Ed is a bit silly, but not always.
Also try ES.

I second FMA
And there's always the three big ones, Naruto/Bleach/One Piece where it's like some sort of unwritten law for the main character to not kill.

Didn't Ichigo kill one of the baddies in Hueco Mundo? The one that kidnapped Orihime. I recall him entering that Evil God-mode and completely overwhelming.

maybe trigun (only watched the anime of this, so I can't be sure if the manga fits, but the anime certainly does)

Okay, thanks, but the problem with Naruto, Bleach, One Piece (and I assumed FMA), is that they have more fighting than I care for. And being good is more than just not killing. While Ichigo and Naruto may be good people, they aren't the sort of character I'm looking for. I'm not just looking for a good person, I'm looking for a Good person . Thanks though.
I'll check out Immortal Rain and Trinity Blood.
By the way, it can be a shoujo (maybe I didn't make that clear) just so long as there is a good plot and action (so a shoujo like Vampire Knight is okay, a shoujo like Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama is not)
Edit: Also, I find it hard to believe that FMA has less action than D Grayman. Though, I suppose, the amount of action isn't the issue; it's more the plot to action ratio that concerns me. Also, doesn't FMA have romance?

FMA hardly has any romance, and for a shounen manga plot, you can't get much better than FMA.

Oh, you really should try FMA. I dropped Bleach because it was just fight after fight and got monotonous, but FMA isn't like that at all. And if you're worried about romance, it is very subtextual--really, really subtextual. You'll hardly notice it. And Ed is definitely "good" in the way that you want.

I was sure that I've read more than one series which would fit this description, but when I checked through my lists, the only manga that seemed to fit is Monster (which you've probably already read). Perhaps you'd like House of Five Leaves, but I'm not sure that the protagonist meets your qualifications for a "good" character.

Never read Monster, but it's on my Wish List. Thanks- now I really want to try it.
Doubutsu no Kuni - he's just a baby, but he's a very good guy. ^^;
The Legend of Sun Knight / The Legend of Sun Knight (Novel) - err...he's kinda reverse-reverse good guy...He's a perfect guy on the surface, rants a lot and seems evil-ish on the inside, but deep down, he really is good.
Noblesse - he's very strong, but doesn't fight unless it's to protect others (which is somewhat rarely overall).
Deadman Wonderland - been a while since I read it, but I think this fits.
Tiji-kun! - same comment as above.
Kongou Banchou - very good guy, though it has a lot of fight scenes.
Others you may like:
Pika Ichi - mostly school life, but there might be more action coming up. Hard to say.
Ageha wo Ou Monotachi - protagonist is female. There's ecchi in it, but it's very mild and not as obtrusive as most; more for comedy than any "sexy" feeling.
Shitsurakuen protagonist is female, though acts male.

I would suggest Angel Densetsu it kinda fits as far as the "good" guy goes
