Step 1.

Randomly kiss her under the pretence of putting her out of danger.

Here's a picture if you're unclear on what to do.

Step 2.

Read if she's a tsundere, if not go to step 3.

Constantly get into situations where she can Tsukommi.

If she accuses you of stealing her lips like exhibit B is doing, you're doing it right.

Step 3

Lock yourself in with her in a storeroom "accidentally". Then go on to talk with her without a third wheel. If all goes well then you should have:

Step 4

Now you can finally propose. Bribing her Dad to call you both and telling you that you two are getting married is optional. At any rate, the final result should be:

Tada.

It may be worth noting that this method has only been proven to work on 2D girls, but there has been a 100% success rate for anybody who has used this method before.

The bus could be a good opportunity for a chance to talk to her, or really anywhere you can sit or stand near her when she doesn't have some important time-critical thing she has to do right then.

As for how to actually start a conversation, saying hi and introducing yourself generally works well enough. After that, if she has given you a reason to think she likes manga/anime, you could ask her about that reason (e.g. "Hey, I noticed you ... and I was wondering if ...."), but if you're not sure, you might also want to think about what you want to say if she says she's not interested in manga/anime. If she does, then you can ask about genres she's interested in, her favorite works, or pretty much anything people chat about in these forums. You could also try just reading a manga near her and she might start a conversation with you, but if she is shy that probably won't work. Though, if you start the conversation, even if you're really nervous, it shows that you had the courage to take the initiative.

Yeah, but we are missing something....Maybe a shovel?

Yes, the bus is really a good opportunity, it has that "I'm talking to you because I have nothing else to do, not because I aim to be your boyfriend" atmosphere.

Since she is an art student you could take Toto advice, "You are an art student aren't you? I think I saw you in the (?)campus(?).." show interest in what she does etcetc.

You can also use other infallible tactics:
"Oh Lady Fair! Thine beaty could make a blind man weep!"
"Do you come here often?"
"Would you like a manly and extremely attractive scort in your way to school?"

Doesn't prehistoric imply it was before any written records?

You could always Get Medeival.

@Oriolidae It's a good advice, thanks! The only problem is that I don't usually go to that many parties and when I go it's always parties with my friends. And I don't think she's the kind of girl who parties a lot either. That combined with the fact that our "friend circles" don't even have 1 match makes it unlikely for me to see her at a party...

(JK) Oh boy this is hard... Oh well I can always become a stalker and live happily ever after watching her from a distance . . . (JK)

Lol, no don't be a stalker. I've had first encounters with people who told me about how long they'd stalked me, it's not a nice first impression to get that a person has stalked you. roll eyes

But yeah, I don't know how you party in your country, we often have big school parties where 6-800 people attend, so chances of getting the opportunity there'd be easy, but sounds like you don't have 'em. I wish you good luck.

@Dafat-MKII, hhahahahaha. biggrin

Hmm, indeed. It would be awkward as hell if she said "No, I don't". I wonder how I could solve that situation without the typical manga way: running away in panic.

@Dafat-MKII Now that was great advice!! There's no way that wouldn't work is there?! Well I'll use it as a last resort in case all else fails laugh . In one way or another I'm sure that would raise a flag. "I can already see the ending"... Oh how easier wouldn't it be if we were all in a game (I bet that at least one person reading this thought to himself "Oh my son but we are and that game is life!" dead )

Got it, I learned something important. If you stalk someone and then manage to meet that person don't reveal that you were previously a stalker bigrazz.

Thanks again to everyone who replied and I appreciate all replies even if you're kidding so if you have something to say I'm all ears (err, eyes?). And I see that the plan to kill her is going along nicely as well laugh

No offense, but wouldn't that rather easily be classified as rape? roll eyes

Are you implying there's anything wrong with rape?

I just don't really get they idea of communicating with other anime/manga fans IRL.
They are horrible human beings and you should stay away from them as far a possible

This guy knows what he's talking about ;D

On a more serious note, I wish you luck with your venture : )

Make sure you keep us informed and we can have our very own Basu Otoko.

Pre-historic courtship was so much easier though.
1. You see nice female.
2. Get a club/bone.
3. Beat guy who she is currently with (if applicable).
4. Drag her by hair to your cave.
5. ? ? ? [Edit]
6. Profit!

I disagree with you on that one. But even considering that you're right, then I'm a horrible human being so I think I'll get along with other horrible people like me eyes

Thank you! And I will say something as things happen (if anything happens at all). The thing is, I'm not as cool, fast or efficient as the guy from Densha Otoko so it'll take a while, I guess . . . Btw I love that manga.

@The Guy I think I'm going with that strategy. It seems simple enough and nothing could possibly go wrong, right?! biggrin And I think 5 is some sort of preparation before you profit. I'll leave the rest to everyone's imagination bigrazz.
