Not yaoi, but try Flowers of Evil. The ending is soooo sad. This one definitely made an impact.

Another good one (again, not yaoi per se, but it takes place at a boys school so a lot of the characters are in gay relationships) is Savage Garden.

1999 Shanghai

The art is one of her older works, but I feel that the story more than makes up for it.

I second both 1999 Sanghai and Like as the Time Will Come When it Will Rain .

Actually, most of Kunieda Saika's stories are tragedy of have a tragedy-like touch to it. Bannin is a great example. And there's also Natsujikan which is a prequel to one of the stories in Like As the Time Will Come When it Will Rain. And if you liked 1999 Sanghai then I recommend Itsuka Sukida to Itte from the same author, Mizushiro Setona. Still her early art style, but a beautiful manga nonetheless.

Watase Yuu's Sakura-Gari is very angsty, and result in tragedy (?). My heart ached reading it. The same goes for the manhwa Let Dai (I can't remember the author) - that's just shounen-ai, though, but wonderful.

Oh, and Lovers, Souls by Miyamoto Kano. It kinda broke my heart but I was happy to see the uke moving on and finding new happiness later in Rules.

thanks a lot for all the manga... but its all quite not what im looking for..

i need something like a wounded soul
someone hurt so bad that... you cry your eyes out

please give me manga's with chars that were raped, abused...

hurt till it was no normal anymore, unable to escape their own fate

need helpp from another to escape.. yet the help is a bit on the late side...

i want a manga that rips my heart out and only returns it after i finished the entire manga

sorry for my weird way of speaking, but im weird

and sorry for my bad english but im not english.. and to lazy to write it corectly now

Tokyo Babylon and X/1999. I don't know why, but they keep haunting me; the relationship between the main protagonists in Tokyo Babylon that is.
