I'm afraid of dying with regrets.

No i'm not scared of dying.

If I die I die. It's going to happen eventually, it's just whether it's sooner or later.

*shrugs*

I say that now, but I think if I was in a life or death situation, I would naturally be scared.

When I think about death, sometimes I am so scared I have to force myself to think about something else to remain calm.
To me, the horrifying thing about death is not the moment of dying but what might or might not be afterwards.

Which means no, I am not afraid of dying but yes, very afraid of death.

The event itself might be terrifying (suffocating, burning...) but in spite of my tremendous fear I am still very curious about the act of dying itself.

And I don't think I will ever bother about regret when the moment arrives. Doesn't something so trivial become utterly meaningless when the only thing you ever knew, life, is about to change into something completely unknown?

Seconded. I have almost the exact same opinion as you on this topic.
i really don't like the idea of death, no matter what version you believe in.
I myself am an atheist, so I don't believe there is anything after death, only nonexistence. Which really isn't the most soothing of ideas to be honest. Although I do wonder how it feels to not exist. But I wouldn't want to experience that for too long a time, maybe just a day or so.
The idea of heaven or hell doesn't really pull me in either. how does an eternity of the same place and the same people seem interesting to you? Be it eternal suffering or eternal happiness.
Then theres the option of reinccarnation, I don't like this one either. Suppose you do reincarnate after death, you won't be born as you. That which makes you you, your memories, experiences and emotions, died with you body. Your not yourself anymore. Only your conciousness moves to another body, the rest is lost forever. So in a way it is very similar to the nonexistence thing. Though in the end, if I had to choose one of these, I'd choose reincarnation, I find it the more pleasant one of them all.

I'm not scared of dying at all. This is because I'm a christian and I'm confident about what happens after death. I once considered what it would be like if there was nothing after death, just nothing at all, and my mind couldn't fathom it. It left me feeling very strange. Really, the only thing that would upset me at all would be if I died before accomplishing my goals.

I am scared of death. I am also somewhat scared of life, but I am scared of being by myself, and once I die, I will be all by myself in this darkness.

I think Socrates had an interesting way of looking at death.
He said that death could either be an eternal sleep or a place where all other dead souls are.

He said that death could be an eternal sleep. When you go to sleep and when you wake up the next morning, you don't have any recollection of the time you spent sleeping. Well, that is what he equated death to. An eternal night of sleep. When I sleep, I don't know that I exist, so I don't know if I am alive or if I am dead. The only difference is when I wake up in the morning and I am still alive. I wouldn't mind an eternal peaceful sleep. It is very calming.

Then, his second way of looking at death was as a place where he would join other dead souls, the souls of his friends and family. He said if he could reunite with his loved ones, then death would not be a horrible thing. Personally, this really doesn't speak to me. I believe more in the death as an eternal sleep idea. After all, we all come from nothingness and we simply return back to nothingness.

Ah, but I forgot to mention. I am afraid of losing my physical body. Because then that would mean I don't have a mind. And how can you sleep with a mindconfused Ahhhhhhh, I am confused.... none

I'm not going to BS anyone. I'm scared of dying. Why else do people feel fear when their car goes out of control etc? I just don't want it to hurt--but wait, I'll be dead after that--

Well it's pretty much unavoidable so there is not much sense in it.
I only hope that at least one of the religions is right and I live on somewhere else, but most probably it will simply be the same before you were born.

No, but I think that when I'm truly happy and content with my life, I will be sad

When I know my time is up and it isn't nothing I can do to beat it, I will take it however death comes because I know I lived a good life.
