Okay so i know yaoi/yuri topics all go into the section for it, but my request technically, not 'yaoi'.
So i saw a topic already about M/M books (Boys love) that are like actual books and that are published in america or whatever, if i could find the forum this would be so much easier. Anyways because of that topic i got interested in m/m novels, so i ended up buying one, since you cannot get them at the local library. (makes me cry bigrazz) it was Zero At The Bone. And i loved it! but guessing by what the author said on her home page, m/m books tend not to have plots. (I don't know if thats true)

After i read Zero at the bone, i wanted more. I don't want to ask on the post, on Baka-updates.. cause i pretty sure it was in the Chatter box...
I also hope i can ask for m/m books (not manga) on this site :S i've seen other request for movies and things like that so i guess i wanted to try smile

So my first request is
1) If you read m/m books and you want to recommend me one of your favorites (it requires a plot that is good) then please do smile

2) A m/m books like zero at the bone,
Zero at the bone it about a hitman who is not totaly gay, or atlest doesn't act like it, hes strong ruthless and totally cool. And a doctor who seems gay, is good looking and smart. The doctor witnesses a mob hit and is forced into the witness protection agency... The Hitman is black mailed to kill him. But he doesn't of course. the best thing is, is that their 'love' doesn't just happen really quickly, it takes time but not too much time smile

So pleasee help me!
'I need a m/m novel fix xD

Also i don't want a book that would cost 100$ cause theirs a high demand or something, and it has to beable to be found on chapters or amazon, and also, i know this sucks but the summary and cover art can't be totally erotic or my mom will go all wtf on me sad

As far as M/M book in english, I've read only one that was "American" and that was "A Strong and Sudden Thaw". It's a sf-ish fantasy that's quite well done. It was originally published by Iris print, but by looking it up on Amazon, I see there's a new publisher... and a sequel! It needed one. Cover of the first isn't too bad (if you find the Iris press one, it's even safer) but the second book...hmm.

And if you look on Amazon, you see other American M/M novels reviewed too.

If you want Japanese translated to English novels, I've read several.
"S" by Saki Aida might suit you. There are 4 novels about a yakuza & an undercover policeman. These books are well written and heavy on plot, but they are on the erotic side.

I read m/m books all the the time. Generally, books by Josh Lanyon are considered classics in the m/m genre; they are very well written.

You can search on this site for m/m books. It literally has like every one that's out.

http://www.goodreads.com/

The site also has lists that would be really good if you're just getting into the genre.

http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/959.The_Best_of_Gay_Ro mance (includes Zero At the Bone)
http://www.goodreads.com/list/show_tag?name=gay

I'm not sure if you have to register to see those lists. I don't think so, at least. but I would do it anyway because its an awesome site to organize your own bookshelf and mark books you've read or want to read smile

Anyway, I've read way too many m/m books to count, but as for ones that I would actually really recommend...

Mexican Heat- Laura Baumbach + Josh Lanyon (cop romance- reaaaally good)
Edward Unconditionally- Lynn Lorenz
Collision Course- KA Mitchell
Force of Law- Jez Morrow (this one was HOT.)
Scarred- JM Snyder

Unlike yaoi, the m/m genre of novels has a lot of good bdsm books. I dunno if you're into that, but you should at least try it. Personally, I think dominance/submission relationships in m/m are pretty smexy. Anyway, I would recommend Bent by Sean Michael for that. There's also a list on goodreads for it.

Books like Zero at the Bone...hmmm...

Josh Lanyon's Adrien English series is reallly popular. The main char's are a cop whose homophobic and also a closet gay and a writer with a backbone. Personally, I thought the cop was a total jerk, but the series was still good. There's a lot of plot and character development, and I think you'll really like it.

Mary Calmes's Matter of Time series also has a hot cop and a funny main character. Basically, the protagonist witnesses a murder and has to go into witness protection and be protected by a "straight" cop. Anyway, a relationship ensues and drags on for about four books. Anyway, I thought the books were pretty amazing, so try em out. smile

i personally prefer images since im the visual type of person, but i once read this m/m book that was so good that i had to share biggrin

Pas de Deux by Jamie Craig
it's an opposites-attract police/lawyer couple. i like it because it has a nice balance between smexyness and actual plot. if ur after either one, u wont be disappointed.
and i believe u can find the ebook online without having to buy it urself smile
good luck and tell me if u like it ~
