This thread seems to be stirring toward discussing particular games. Let me remind you that isn't its topic. So can we please get back to topic people.

Heeeey, I love FFVIII too.^^ Squall...now THAT'S a real character. Cloud seemed too much of a stereotypical, emotionless hero for me. Great to find someone who has the same sentiment. Everyone else I know thought the junction system sucked. ^^;

yea whats up with that? i loved the junction system! when i first played FFVII and saw that materia stuff i was all like, "wtf is this? no gtfo!" but maybe thats just because FFVIII was the first FF game I played........

and squall was one of my favorite characters. i liked the fact that he was a loner at first yet slowly opened up to everyone. i only wished that after he found out that rinoa had the hots for that other dude, seifer i think, quitist would've been the one to make him >_>.....<_<.....feel better......and then it would've turned into this, "who do i really like", thing. but thats just me -_-;

Edit: woops, and for threads sake, do a lot of girls pose as males in mmorpgs? when i play ragnarok they always seem to get bugged by the guys, or end up being the butt of a sex joke. seems kinda annoying :/

I chose the assume female characters in MMORPGs are guys option, because in many cases it's true. I play a female character most of the time... I don't care whether it's a guy or girl playing the game either, but the other option came first so I picked that.

<< not a fan of squall, he only seemed to me to learn to get along with ppl, cloud dealt with some stronger/crazier stuff
but personally they were both better than the guy from ffIX for me

My female buddies are all gamers and excellent to boot. I mean they always give a challenge and good stomping on my corpse. Every now and then I manage to beat them. It just depends on what the game is. But otherwise it shouldn't really matter. Besides...for me...female gamers are a nice welcome especially if they know their stuff.

I'm not really sure about that...actually I'm the only one I know who poses as a male in mmorpgs, usually, it's the other way around...guys posing as girls to get free stuff from generous (but stupid) players.

There's a girl in my group who plays WoW. That's one hell of a geekish creature. Scary.

But if girls enjoy occasional Sims2 or sweet stuff like Beyond Good & Evil than that's quite okay. It doesn't show.

That's kind of stereotypical x.x... Just because a girl plays WoW, it doesn't mean she's weird or geeky. And why should girls only like the games that you think are sweet x.x? I play all kinds of games, but then I go out with friends, enjoy concerts, restaurants, etc. Just because I play games, it doesn't mean I'm not normal or that it shows.

Do girls even have time to play games? What with all the time it takes to bear children, cook, clean the house, and all. Plus, some games require reading. Are females really up to the challenge?

I see a lot of /b/tards here. There are women on the internet. Many play games. I cannot even believe this stereotype still exists outside of /b/, where it's mostly a joke bordering on meme in its capacity.

It's true I mostly play MMOs. I am usually a tank/dps type when I do. And I'm primarily a PC gamer. However, I enjoy playing Halo, RPGs, and fighting games like Smash Bros and such when our friends get together over one of their game systems. I wouldn't say I'm great, but I don't suck, either. I'm well within the realm of "average" in games other than MMOs (which I rock at).

Get used to grlz being on the internets. We're pretty much here to stay and the population % of us is only due to go up at this point. roll eyes
