i don´t know if you already know it or not, so i´ll just post it here.
As the german website pummeldex.de reported, Viz Media stops publishing Gintama in the US. It seems to have been a rumor in the internet, but now it´s offical. The last volume (23) will be published in August.
For the german readers: Gintama also isn´t doing very well in germany, so you should buy it if you don´t want it to be dropped.

And I rely on buying the manga too..darn it

I suppose Americans are more interested in the anime...?

Kind of surprising, seeing as though Gintama is pretty much always among the top ten selling titles in Japan

Thanks for the info

Honestly, this is more shocking to me than Tokyopop going out of business. It's weird, you don't often hear about Viz dropping series, especially their precious Jump titles. I heard they also placed Hitman Reborn on hiatus for sometime now, maybe that will go next?

I wrote about this on my blog and I think that there's too many Japanese culture references in Gintama.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Gintama. It's just that I don't know how many casual Western anime/manga fans would pick up a series where they don't get everything that's being joked about.
