I'm looking for long-running shounen mangas with romance (however the romance shouldn't be the main "plot" or whatever you call it lol).

Examples: Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, Shaman King, or any Adachi Mitsuru series (though I guess baseball can be the subplot here instead of the romance >_<).

I would really prefer if the romance isn't the main priority in the series. It doesn't matter if it's still on-going or not, as long as it's shounen (no shoujo/seinen/josei please, I'm really looking for shounen titles specifically).

Thanks in advance!

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle

Rurouni Kenshin

Rave

Detective Conan

Yu Yu Hakusho

For long-but-not-really-long series:

Superior

Mirai Nikki

1/2 Prince / 1/2 Prince (Novel)

Baccano! (Novel)

Bakuman

with Superior romance is the plot, i mean there isnt one moment in that manga where romance isnt an issue whenever the main characters are involved.

and with Bakuman, romance is again the driving force of that manga, granted, its long, played out, and put to the side, but realy the whole thing is about a boy making a manga to get the girl he loves.

now with all the things said so far, im surprised no one said ippo, romance in there takes a FAR back seat, at least where ippo is concerned.

now tell us one more thing...

do you want it to be a shonen like love, or a shoujo like love? its hard to explain the difference but if you know it you know it.

I second Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, Psyren and Rave.

I'm also recommending Full Metal Alchemist and perhaps Slam Dunk might fit your request although
Spoiler (highlight to view)
the romance never really gets developed...it's merely one-sided crushes that end that way, if I recall correctly
.

Maybe Kamui as well, but I honestly don't remember most of it.

Definitely Samurai Deeper Kyo and Vampire Juujikai .

Maybe even Smash! although the romance is quite heavy here.

Is it? All I remember regarding romance in Superior is that she's in love with the hero. There has hardly been any development in any romantic relation as far as I remember, aside from her falling more in love with him and him starting to feel something for her. But it could be I forgot all of it.

In Bakuman, while romance is the reason Mashiro finally decided to become a mangaka, he gains a love for manga separate from Azuki. At one point, he even states to Azuki that
Spoiler (highlight to view)
he loves manga more than he loves her. They even have a long distance relationship and very rarely see or even talk to each other. Even with Kaya, who hangs around Takagi a lot, there are scenes where he practically ignores her for how much he and Mashiro focus on their manga.
It's not the driving force of Bakuman; it's just part of the character motivation of Mashiro. And if it's "put to the side", then it fits in this topic.

Angel Densetsu

Not super long compared to some other series, but 15 volumes is still pretty decent.

Kenichi and Miu's relationship is a very intregal part of the story. However it's at 41 volumes and still going...

Major: 75 volumes (Complete), although you'll have to watch the anime, since after the first 16 chapters the scanlations skip around a lot. Starts out in his childhood, so there isn't much actual romance there, it's mostly just subtext until they're much older.

Holyland is a Seinen, although besides that, it does fit the topic.

good point with bakuman, but superior is basically all about her relationship developing from the fake i love you, to actually meaning it, and i believe it starts in superior cross, where it goes from the heros view point too. there is almost always some form of development.

now not to quote you, just another comment to make.

we can realy use that shoujo/shonen distinction.

the shonen one would be like goku and chichi, where the relationship is more of a slap in the face than anything else, or fairy tail, the watter girl and ice boy (cant think of names).

or a more shoujo like one where there is a relationship, and its not a one sided crush the whole damn time with a slap in the face curve into cupple. i cant think of many of this kind in shonen, probably because they dont stand out as much as the slap in the face kind.
