I mean, in 10 year he can only move around Pakistan-afghan border, so he knew his life actually finished, sooner or later. al qaeda may already have a new replacer for him long time ago.

so while killing him is quite satisfied. but does it make an great impact on this organization? let wait and see, cause we don't even know he is currently leading al qaeda or not, or is he the true leader?

That's kinda obvious. One of the biggest terrorist leaders just died because of America's troops, it'd be crazier to think that nothing would happen to America.

Kinda thought that this would mean that the troops could finally come back home, but there's still so much shit happening in the Middle East so it doesn't look like that's happening anytime soon...

1) Osama getting shot in the head provides a morale boost to many nations that has been struggling during this global recession especially the U.S. This gives Obama significant leeway, particularly in terms of military operations.

2) His death will not bring "more war." It will not make terrorists want to destroy the U.S. any more than anything Bush did during his 8 years of unbelievable stupidity. If anything Osama's life brought more war at every turn.

3) It cuts down the most high profile rallying point for Islamic fundamentalist terrorism. Those beneath him did planning and recon but he gave vision and direction. Even though they may be able to rally people around his dead image, a dead image cannot tell them God wants them to kill Swedes for laughing at a racist cartoon. None of his scum can give that kind of focus the way he could right now and it will take time for another to build his name up if at all which leads to point three.

4) Much like the NAACP after Martin Luthor King Jr.'s death, it is possible the leadership will find itself in a power struggle that will fracture and weaken the organization in the long term. While the organization and others like it will still exist, it will be a shadow of its former self as potential members seek alternatives to Jihadists to vent their angst and frustrations.

5) His stooges did not need any motivation to try and hurt the U.S. and its allies or anyone for that matter. His death will not make us any more or less safe than before, especially if you live in NYC like I do. So if you are complaining that this is only going to provoke them, grow some balls and STFU.

Who cares? He'll just quickly be replaced. This changes nothing. Just because we killed the so called "poster boy of Jihad" doesn't mean everyone will give up trying to kill westerners. He's just a face and provider of income for for their "holy war." Those princes of UAE will continue to fund their attacks and training. I don't understand why everyone is celebrating like retarded barbarians over the death of one man who was hiding in plain sight. Great job, America. You spent billions hunting down one man for absolutely nothing. Let's not forget that, like, 500 "insurgents" escaped from a prison in the Middle East. You think they'll just be like, "Oh, that guy is dead, let's give up"? Not hardly. If anything, the attacks will increase. Nothing short of the world-wide abolishment of religion as a whole could deter more feuding. This shit has been going on since the crusades. It's not gonna stop because one person died. Killing their "leader" just gives them more reason to hate us. One radical Muslim will teach their children that westerners are evil and that blowing themselves up to kill us will save them a castle with a bunch of virgins in heaven. When a enemy embraces death like that, what reason do they have to stop?
Also, I'm in the military and was in a unit hunting Osama in the mountains. Everyone there knew that unless we get him alive, not much will change. There would be a surge in attacks regardless of how we get him anyways. Maybe not immediate, but it will happen soon.
Sure, it's a moral booster, until they blow something up of ours or one of our allies. Then the cycle starts again. I can't wait till this war starts costing trillions to keep up.
Oh well. Soon, we'll all be obliterated by China and their oppressive government.

Osama was't just a man. He was a symbol, and symbols don't die.

Symbols become forgotten and irrelevant. Osama will be a half forgotten bad memory before the decade is out.

i really dont think people like Osama are common, they're a rarity there's a reason why the U.S. wanted him dead since Clinton's era, this guy had the ability to persuade people to hijack planes and crash them into buildings, Osama had hundreds (and probably billions) of dollars at his disposal and created military camps, he was extremely intelligent and had a lot of resources (other then money) at his disposal, he was able to elude the western world for almost 10 years, killing him was a pivotal moment in "the war in terror"
