A shounen manga with a nice romance sub-plot is Yanki-kun to Megane-chan. It's mostly comedy school life, but it's about delinquent so it involves a lot of fighting (which is borderline supernatural in places. laugh )

Definitely check out Jackals. It's seinen, it's got plenty of action, and there's a romantic subplot, although it doesn't play too big of a part. Hopefully enough to be okay for you.

BB Project seems to be shaping up nicely. There's no real romance in it at this point, but there's enough hinting that you can connect the dots for future chapters.

Ryuurouden takes a while to develop (in art and plot progression), and it might be too shounen "comrades, friendship, blahblah," for you, but there is plenty of graphic fighting and romance (though the two characters are separated for many chapters and the history is pretty heavy), but if it appeals to your tastes, it has its moments.

Wolf Guy - Ookami no Monshou it's got action and romance and great art, but be cautioned, this is extremely graphic in violence, and it does contain rape. Just a warning, in case that would offend you.

XBlade is one that I've always liked, and I'd recommend it to you if any of my other suggestions seem relevant.

Battle Royale is okay. It's angsty and preachy, the art gets a bit wierd, and there's a lot of back story, plus
Spoiler (highlight to view)
nearly everyone dies.
But just puttin' it out there.

I guess just see if Witch Hunter or Red Erewhon sound like what you want. You might like them, you might not. But it doesn't hurt to look.

Lacking in the romance, but something you might want to check out:
Omega Complex It's pretty dense right now with technical jargon and such, but it has potential for more action and romance, so let some more chapters come out before you read it if it interests you (same artist as BB Project, different author).
Shi ga Futari wo Wakatsu Made some people love it, others don't. But it's pretty badass, so I say give it a try.

Hope one of these is what you're looking for, if you haven't already read them.
biggrin

Here are some of my favorites:

Kurokami
Freezing
Hanza Sky
The Legend of Maian
Rappi Rangai
Shitsurakuen
Tsugumomo
Until Death do Us Part
Yozakura Quartet

I don't know if all off these will fit what you're lookin for but a couple should.

Enchanter : dude discovers hidden power, realizes that dark forces are targeting his childhood love who is a teacher at his school, so he has to juggle between trying to conquer his teacher, reject a female devil that is after his body (not in the good sense) and defeat the enemies that come after him.

Break Blade : Giant Robots fighting at it. The romance is really interesting in this one as the main character is in love with a married woman, and the married woman loves him back but because of the "married" thing they act like if they don't like each other. The "husband" knows about that (in fact he was pretty much clear that he was "stealing away" the love of his friend), what's interesting in this is that the approach is not "evil" so there is no "hate" between them on that love triangle, but there is enough "suffering" in the story that makes you wish that things would magically solve themselves.

Kara no Kyoukai : It's about a girl with powers that has a "tough job" handling super natural things in a bloody manner. She has an "almost childhood friend" that she meet before high school and has no power at all. The guy knows her perfectly since he is good at understanding people, so little by little the female main character will defrost her cold exterior to the feelings of romance and such. The manga is an adaptation of a series of movies if you feel like watching them. This story ties loosely with "Tsukihime", and Tsukihime also fits as an advise for the topic description.

Ga-Rei : Similar premise to the above one, but the story is much simpler and is packed with more action an humour.

Not action centric but not necessarily calm either.

Boku no Marie : An old series. Dude creates an android who is a replica of the girl that he likes, as that facts gets discovered slowly both the android and the girl start to fall for him.

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia : In his first day of school the main guy meets a beautiful girl, but quickly finds out that she is a Ghost. As he gets to know her he doesn't know what to believe (he doesn't buy her story), the more he knows her the more he will have to solve mysteries surrounding the paranormal and the more he feels himself attracted to the Ghost girl.
