After, what, 2 years RL time of keeping up with Vampire Knight. It finally looks as though the story is reverting back to the original setup. Of Zero and Yuuki joining forces together with Kaname mysteriously lurking in the background.

I definitely think the plot has finally picked up, and the series has become interesting again. Or maybe I'm biased since my favorite is Zero and I've been waiting forever for him to come back in as a main role.

Is anyone else excited about this? I'm also interested in seeing what is going to happen with Kaname, and his plans. Yuuki is in a really difficult position right now and I can only imagine how mixed her feelings are about what Kaname has done, and what she has to do to see that he is brought to justice.

And yes... I'm so glad that Yuuki is finally going into kick-butt mode...

But man... don't you think this scene (from Chapter 72) was hot!? Oh Zero... why are you so hot?!

Kick-butt Yuuki is sooooo much better then weak, incapable, fragile, doll-like Yuuki. To this day, I cannot understand why she put up with Kaname keeping her locked up for a whole year, why she tolerated him telling her how to dress and wear her hair, and why she agreed to cut off all contact with Yori, Chairman Cross, etc. just because Kaname said so.

So yes, kick-butt Yuuki is much, much better than Stepford Wife Yuuki. Still, it's almost too much of a night-and-day shift between Yuuki thinking she's too weak and useless to properly stand beside Kaname, to suddenly taking over his old role as pureblood leader of Cross Academy.

However, that scene you linked to with Yuuki and Zero was great! There hasn't been real sexual tension in this manga for a long, long time. (In my opinion, Yuuki and Kaname lost all their sexual tension after the timeskip because of the imbalance of power in their relationship. Since he never told her anything or let her go anywhere, she wasn't any type of challenge for him.)

All the intensity between Yuuki and Zero definitely makes me think the plot is leaning in their direction. Plus, let's be real here: Kaname has killed people. He's killed innocent people. Twu Luv does NOT erase that fact. (Chairman Cross even told Yuuki that her relationship with Kaname is no longer a simple thing.)

To be blunt, I can't imagine the manga would want an idealistic character like Yuuki to end up with someone capable of killing Aidou's dad--someone who was a loyal follower and the parent of one of his closest associates. (Unless it was for self-defense, which it clearly wasn't, Kaname's reasons for killing him don't excuse it.) Zero isn't perfect, by any means, and it's entirely possible Yuuki won't end up with Zero or anyone else, but because of his own actions, I really think Kaname is no longer a realistic choice.

Yes... lately, every time Zero and Yuuki meet, I just get this intense feeling of sexual tension... I think it's the only reason why I'm reading this (is that bad?) But no... I dunno... for some reason, Zero's neck tattoo and ear piercings make me melt so so sooooooo badly... Curse my hormones!!
