For the longest time, I've been looking for a manga about a girl falling in love with her superior, except the problem is that she's disguised as a boy for one reason or another. Preferably military. Any suggestions? Please?

Kaze Hikaru - it's the shinsengumi.
Also I think he's her superior in Toshokan Sensou: Love & War...

Edit: I really really cannot recommend Kaze Hikaru enough. It's awesome.

This probably isn't exactly what you're looking for, but it's the only military gender bender I could find: Ensemble (Yubi).

Maybe you'll like 1/2 Prince; it's not really superior-subordinate but more teacher-student, but not in the typical shoujo way; and her teacher is convinced that she is a boy.

If you don't like these, go watch Mulan (again); that fits your request perfectly (only it's not manga) bigrazz .

There's also a manga version - Kaze yo, Banri wo Kake yo.

I second Kaze Hikaru. I've followed this series since I was in elementary school, still can't get enough of it <3

It definitely doesn't fit with what the OP is looking for. There's no romance at all, and the story is by no means military-related. The father being a policeman is all.

Guys about Kaze Hikaru, didn't the girl got find out early in the series that she was a girl? I think the concept of military gender bender is kinda awesome. Now it will be perfect if it is not shoujo.

Only the Disney-fied version of Mulan has romance. The real story doesn't have any romance.

The Mulan I was referring to is the Disney version, but I'll take your word for it that the real story doesn't have any romance in it; the manga version does, only he's not her superior but her peer, and it's definitely not the main focus.

Only by Okita (in volume 1). As of vol. 18 she's still disguising herself as a boy.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Though I think I've read spoilers further ahead where she has to leave the shinsengumi, although I can't remember clearly if it was because she was found out or not. I think she goes back to living as a girl, though.

There is also some ship tease between her and others in the group who think she is a man, particularly

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
another of her superiors, Saitou. I think he finds out eventually though.

I mention volume 18 as it's the latest published by Viz. They haven't released a new one in quite a while although 19 is scheduled for August. I'm so worried they don't think this series is selling well enough to keep releasing sad If this carries on (stalled, slow releases - English volumes are now 10 volumes behind the Japanese) I'll probably end up buying it in Japanese because I love this series so much, but I'm worried that it'll be really difficult to understand in Japanese because of all the historical details and authenticity.

I think Kaze Hikaru is the kind of shoujo that can appeal to anyone, I really recommend it even to those who don't like shoujo.

So I'm surprised nobody mentioned this already (which makes me hesitate to say it because now I'm second-guessing whether you want it or not, haha), but what about Tokyo Crazy Paradise? Seems good to me... biggrin Though I'm not too far into it so I don't know. And it's less military, but still fighting/police/yakuza/something-or-other.
