I'm looking for a manga similar to doctor who. One with a lot of adventure, action and the main character is known by almost everyone everywhere. The main character should also have some internal conflicts. I'm really interested in doctor who right now and am looking for something that is similar to it in manga form.

only manga i know that may fall into this category is FMA. since the "Full Metal Alchemist" is known everywhere, his adventure is to search for the philosopher's stone, he does have a tragic past that leads to some internal conflict and he has a partner which travels along side him, AL bigrazz.

*I couldn't find a thread like this while searching if there is one you can get rid of this one or merge it.

I agree Eat-man is a good choice for this.

Immortal Rain perhaps?
Trigun Maximum?

They've both got rather infamous male leads who have been around a while, and have tragic pasts.

I read the description on both and the Immortal Rain one sound so much like doctor who bigrazz. And I've been hearing good reviews for Trigun for the longest time but haven't started on it yet.
Thanks for your referrals (is that the right word?) they seem really interesting and I can't wait to start reading them!
