It seems that Naomura, possibly in response to criticism regarding the direction the series took in the last chapters, has written an extended ending for the final volume, in which Sora proposes to Tsuki at the end.

Oh well, the series was kinda BS anyways. It could have been so much better.

I dunno, considering what the series started out as, I was moderately surprised that the mangaka managed to expand and add depth where I expected absolutely nothing. And did it without making a poor excuse like "he wasn't a bad person, he's a good guy now". At most, the monstrous characters came off either as broken individuals who could eventually fix themselves, or as cowards who became something they didn't like. And to me, at least, El and Tsuki were obviously two sides of the same coin, both playing Sora as a pawn, so I never expected El to be anywhere as evil as he was initially portrayed.

Considering the whole story started as pathetically shallow, and absurdly black and white, it somewhat impressed me that the bad guys ended up being...well, not likeable...but eventually forgivable?

Then again, I haven't seen how the series ends (in either the original or final versions).

I totally agree. the ending chapters added depth and it wasn't as if it came randomly out of the blue. it worked well in the story and considering it from start to finish it was a pretty strong finish which seriously boosted my overall opinion about the manga.

Ohhooo, it's extended? Since this series always gave a Shoujo ai scent I thought that one is a proper ending. Since one of my friend said this suckes because in the end every girl got their man
But for me, I love that ending Though I prefer Sora to be with Karin and that I-forget-his-name to be with the loli rather than with her sister

Extended or original both are the absolute worst ending ever, the first half of the manga was brilliant but from there on it went way down and I can't put into words just how terrible the ending is.
