It's alarming how quickly things can spiral out of control. From what I've seen through photos and videos it looks a complete warzone.

@Brucie_kun people on the internet are saying that the riots outside london arent as bad as the ones in london and the police have it slightly under control

It is still worrying, it feels unsafe to go out anymore. I just hope the riots [lawlessness?] will die out soon.

It's escalated as far as Liverpool now as well. Haven't heard anything about Newcastle yet though, so hopefully that's ok.

The riots outside of London are just as bad. I've seen some of the clips from Birmingham. Stuff that's been happening there is worse than some of the places in London.

Its times such as this that I really really despise my country, especially since they banned firearms, effectively making this country like one big-nation wide Virginia Tech / Gun-Free Zone where normal people are defenceless and easy pickings against the raging mob.

What this incident shows is that despite what the police / government say, they are not Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent or even Omniprescient (aka foreknowledge: see Minority Report).like they make themselves out to be.

Which is all the more reason why citizens should be armed!

mad

Maybe the army should intervene. David Cameron (British PM) has enlisted 16,000 police officers on the streets of London tonight but it's no where near enough now that it has spread to almost the whole country.

You do realize that this all started because a man was shot, like, with a gun?

I agree that it's disgusting what's happening to the UK but arming everyone with firearms would lead to all out war. Bodies would pile in the streets. Firearms should remain Illegal to all civilians. We can only trust in the security forces and that they can do everything they can to protect us.

This is sickening. Even psychopaths and wanna be serial killers are joining the party.

Shame on them, this incident wouldn't have escalated if they were decisive enough to take action. Buckle up Gentlemen, it's time to stop swinging your batons and start using tear gas and plastic bullets!

Apparently they deployed more police forces during the Royal wedding than their initial actions against the rioters in London. I have nothing against the Police but I'm very disappointed with how they handle this situation.

And you do realize that things would have not escalated as they have if the raging mob knew that citizens were armed and not easy pickings?

Besides, the mob is already making the police look like a bunch of amateurs and at the end of the day, the only people you can rely on is yourself.

On the other hand, while they would big themselves up and show no fear, etc would criminals be willing to risk their lives on an individual that may or may not be armed?

Now that's speculation. Plausible but not proven. Let's discuss this another day in another thread.

Virginia Tech, Fort Hood, Utoya Island, etc, I think it has been proven to be far from speculation.

This is the logical conclusion of what disarmed citizens can expect.
