us is dominate in iraq they destroyed the old government and have control over the new government there are few groups who keep shooting at them but its nothing major besides these countries have the home field advantage . frankly i cant imagine a bunch of fat rednecks defending themselves from the strongest army in the world

you've got to be kidding..the US isnt dominating in iraq?haha
like eblees said they're in total control over the new government
Not against guerrilla warfare. If we had "total control," we wouldn't be having this:
http://icasualties.org/iraq/fatalities.aspxControlling a government vs controlling the people are two entirely different things.

*claps* you said it yourself, thats exactly why they shouldnt be conveniently available for everyone.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
did you know that an adolescent is twice as likely to commit suicide if a gun is kept at home?
i'd like to add this
Quote
From 1980 to 1997, gun killings by young people age 18 to 24 increased from about 5,000 to more than 7,500.
During the same period, gun killings by people 25 and older fell by almost half, to about 5,000.
-The U.S. Department of Justice
Guns are not for everyone, which is why a thorough background check and probably a physiological exam should be required to purchase one.
However, that said, you conveniently leave out a key fact:
http://www.policyalmanac.org/crime/archive/firearms_and_crim e.shtmlQuote
Offenders
According to the 1997 Survey of State Prison Inmates, among those possessing a gun, the source of the gun was from -
1) a flea market or gun show for fewer than 2%
2) a retail store or pawnshop for about 12%
3) family, friends, a street buy, or an illegal source for 80%
So, basically, you only punish the honest folk, while the vast majority of criminals obtain it illegally anyway.
BTW: link your sources. Its good etiquette and it doesn't make your argument look weak.
