That really depends on how you wear them; I see nothing wrong with wearing opaque uni-colour leggings and boots under a long shirt :/

neither do i...ive been wearing leggings with long shirts for a long time now
i dont remember anyone commenting on them before :l

Yeah except this topic isn't talking about leggings, it's talking about tights (I don't consider them the same. As in, tights are transparent, and leggings aren't), and I assume OP meant nothing covering them. So literally like pants. You're mentioning a long shirt, so at least you're covering up...

Nothing other than that the outfit looks good.
Around here, lots of girls wear them, and nobody that I know of thinks it weird or repulsive.

Edit: @tactics: Tights aren't necessarily transparent; some are just like leggings, but with feet.

Where did that come from? No one said anything about that in this thread.

my point was
if tights are revolting then mini skirts and mini shorts should be considered revolting too

Yeah, and that point came out of nowhere. You clearly have issues defending an argument so you formed an imaginary one.

To me, that looks fine. I've seen people walking around with leggings as pants and not pulling it off before though...
When I think tights however, I do think of the transparent ones, and if I change that picture to a pair of tights, then no.

So.

Do you consider tights as pants?

No. Tights are tights, they shouldn't be worn as pants, because they aren't pants. I've actually never seen a girl wearing tights as pants.

leggings are a bit different, but I still think that a good part of it should be covered, nobody wants to see your butt in the streets, or school, or work.

i didnt form an imaginary one
i wasnt defending any argument anyway
you said "they leave little to the imagination"
so clothes which are much more revealing should be revolting too if everyone thought the way you did

you know, you could have said "you have issues defending an argument" in a much nicer way
no need to be so defensive its only a topic about tights.

Rather than defensive I'm amused. Things just go over your head don't they? Anyway, perhaps I need to spell things out for you. If you present an argument without a bridge then it looks like you are pulling it out of thin air. It also looks like you are talking to yourself if you choose to argue in the way. Next time be clear and precise to avoid that. You should have stated what you did above in the first place. laugh

I think people should dress a bit more modestly than wearing jeggings or tights or Justin Bieber haircuts, you need to respect yourself a bit more than that.

nope, I don't like skinny jeans, tights, short shorts, mini skirts, or minidresses either for the same reason. (mostly just personal preference)

A little off topic, a lot of girls need to learn that dark bras and panties do not go underneath light colored tights and tight tops all that well, or light under tight dark. roll eyes
Or they could just buy better quality and not focus on branding.

I was a bit weirded out at school one day. This girl was wearing tights as pants, and she was wearing a bright green thong that was completely visible. I was walking up the stairs and she was in front of me. -_-

Yeah, let's regulate what is and isn't acceptable clothing because we don't like it.

Great idea - how about next we tell people what to think! Those bastards with their free will and what not!

Seriously though, I have no problem with people wearing tights as pants (the non-transparent ones), it's just the fashion these days. I do however have a problem with the idiots who don't know how to wear them properly (eg: wearing see-through ones without a skirt or something over it). Also I live near the beach so plenty of places nearby have women walking around in bikinis or a bikini top with shorts. I don't see people getting all up in arms about that...

So you would be fine with men wearing tights? If they are non-transparent tights we could still see the shape of some things.
