It should be categorized under pants collectively, but personally I do not like short shorts, tights, miniskirts or skinny jeans. I do not like to wear them, nor do I enjoy seeing them on anyone else.

Yeah, let's regulate what is and isn't acceptable clothing because we don't like it.

Great idea - how about next we tell people what to think! Those bastards with their free will and what not!

Seriously though, I have no problem with people wearing tights as pants (the non-transparent ones), it's just the fashion these days. I do however have a problem with the idiots who don't know how to wear them properly (eg: wearing see-through ones without a skirt or something over it). Also I live near the beach so plenty of places nearby have women walking around in bikinis or a bikini top with shorts. I don't see people getting all up in arms about that...

So you would be fine with men wearing tights? If they are non-transparent tights we could still see the shape of some things.

Lol obviously it's different.

As a nudist I laugh at all of your irrational fear of other people's bodies. lol

But in all seriousness, I can't say I enjoy seeing people's underwear underneath a pair of tights, no need to proclaim to the world that you are a slut. But hey, if they just dress like that because they like the style and don't care what other people think then why not. It's not their fault other people are offended because they don't fall into what other people think is "normal". More power to 'em.

If they wanna be considered as shameless sluts, then I don't really see a problem with them.

If they wanna be considered as shameless fat sluts, then I demand compensation for my eyes upon having accidentally looked their way.

Nevertheless, I don't consider them to be pants.

Wearing tights as pants to me...

feel the same as wearing short shorts under long shirts that cover them so much the person looks like he/she isn't even wearing anything underneath.

I think black skinnies would flatter the legs much more than tights :X

half-transparent leggings with dresses are very cute though (:

gettitng off topic a little but that's because they are at the beach. i mean, what if someone showed up to a party in a wetsuit. Sure, perhaps they are comfortable in it, but wtf right. It's just not done.
laugh

anyway, back to topic. Tights are not pants. It is up to the individual whether or not they are going to wear them like pants, but they have got to realize they are not pants, and in many instances will not behave like pants. If anything they are closer to sweats or windbreakers. Also not pants.

If we take it literally, I wouldn't wear tights as pants, and it isn't very good even if the girl has a Miss Universe body (well, I think a guy doesn't think the same ┐┐). They're uncomfortable and risky! They have a function, and I believe it's to go with skirts, dresses, and blablabla...

On the case of the leggings, I agree with kraki. They're better with long shirts.

And with the jeggings, really I don't mind. They look good in most of the people and let you move better than jeans..

But well, people are free to use whatever they want to. We don't need to tell them, they know it. Even if there's a clothing law, there will be always someone willing to break it. And eventually people that will follow this new paradigm. An infinite cycle called fashion, isn't it?

I frequently wear them with denim short-shorts or a lengthy shirt. And jeggings are love! < 3

As long as your panty-lines aren't showing and your butt doesn't blatantly jiggle when you walk, I don't see anything wrong with it.

I agree that's fine, but personally I don't like it when people wear tights or leggings as though they were pants (i.e. not wearing shorts, a skirt, a dress/long shirt over them). Jeggings are kind of designed to be worn by themselves as a substitute for jeans so I guess that's acceptable, but tights and leggings are not. They're skin-tight and the fabric is pretty thin. I just personally find it kind of distasteful. They don't conceal a lot and especially if a girl is quite large it's not really pleasing to look at.

I think some people can pull off wearing them instead of pants but I would personally never even try it. Even among young people it has never really been fashionable where I live (I saw my cousin do it once a few years ago though) and you'd probably get a lot of unwelcome staring and disapproval if you went out in public like that, especially from older people.

tights as pants, not for me. I mean sometimes i wonder why people just dont wlak around in their undies, its not liek theirs anything to hide with teh way their dressing. IF you wnat to have it as pants, try to be a little more considerate of those around ya. No body wants to see your junk. But that show I see oy

I was a bit weirded out at school one day. This girl was wearing tights as pants, and she was wearing a bright green thong that was completely visible. I was walking up the stairs and she was in front of me. -_-

This has happened to me numerous times, I don't really have a problem with them as long as stuff like that is not visible as it might offend people.

Personally I don't wear them, but I don't mind if other girls do. It's their choice.

Since when did wearing a pair of leggings make a girl a 'shameless slut'?

I'm not talking about at the beach, I'm talking like shops and restaurants that are near the beach. The main place I am thinking of when I talk about this is about 250 - 300 metres away from the actual beach.
