And so I was irretated and wanted to know what it means.

Isn't Kaname the bro of Yuuki?! When he isn't why is she calling him onii-sama?!
And what is the meaning of the sentence?! Did Kaname kill the real bro or waht?!

I don't know if that actually happened since I stopped reading Vampire Knight, but Kaname is Yuki's biological brother. But maybe because they can get married, she does not call him onii-san.

Well actually Kaname technically is Yuki's older brother, but this is what happened xD:
When 'Kaname' (the real KANAME) was a baby, after he was born, the current Kaname, the one we see now he's like a ancestor of some sort of the 'Kuran' family, basically he didnt die. He went inside Yuki's real older brother Kaname's baby body. Yuki's father always knew and like still treated him as his own son.

I hope this clears up some misunderstanding >__< For me the manga chapter was very clear actually LOL, and I think it was also mentioned on the Vampire Knight Fanbook (which I have ♥)

Ahh... Okay, that was the part which was quite long and complicated that's why I just looked at the pics xDDD
And I finally understand it. Thanks.
And the thing about the fan book. It was to expensive to buy such a thing then I would either buy the next Conan mangas biggrin

That's not quite right.

Technically, there are 2 Kanames. The first is the guy who began the Kuran line (the Ancestor), and the second is Yuuki's brother.

The Kaname that we know is actually the first Kaname, the Ancestor. The Ancestor Kaname got sick of his life (for various reasons) and decided to put himself to sleep for all eternity. Yuuki's evil Uncle Rido decided he wanted to revive the Ancestor so he could drink his blood and become stronger. (As the originator of the family, Ancestor Kaname should have the strongest blood.) In order to revive Kaname, Rido needed a sacrifice, someone he could feed to Ancestor Kaname.

That's where Yuuki's brother, Kaname comes in. At the time all this happened, Juuri had just given birth to her first child and she and Haruka named him Kaname, after their Ancestor. Rido could tell that the baby was destined to be strong, so he tricked Haruka and Juuri and took the baby to Ancestor Kaname's crypt. The manga spares us most of the awful details, but essentially Rido feeds the baby to Ancestor Kaname. (We're told Kaname remembers the crunching of the baby's bones.) After reviving, Ancestor Kaname attacks Rido and injures him (preventing Rido from taking his blood); however, Kaname is still rather weak, so he decides to turn himself into a baby (I guess he assumes by the time he grows up, he'll have regained all his former strength) and trusts Haruka and Juuri will take care of him as he grows up.

So yes, absolutely, Kaname stole Yuuki's brother's life. He did it literally in that he killed him, and he did it metaphorically in that instead of Baby Kaname, Ancestor Kaname ended up being the one raised by Haruka and Juuri and playing the part of Yuuki's older brother.

Since they raised him, Haruka & Juuri thought of him as their son anyway, despite the fact that they knew he was their grandfather/great-grandfather. Since Yuuki was never told that Kaname is actually her great-grandfather, she thinks of him as her brother. (He might be a little farther down the family tree than an actual brother, but emotionally, he's her brother.)

Hope that helps.

Do you mean Yuuki knew Kaname wasn't her brother...? She didn't know until very recently when Kaname told her. Pureblood relatives can get married. Yuuki's parents were siblings, so that's why they talked about being like their parents, since their parents were siblings who got married.

Or were you talking about something else?

OMG! So complicated... but I finally understand. If I were Yuuki, I would hate him for killing my real bro. Because I always wanted a big bro who protects me and coz I was a Zero fan from the firt chapter. biggrin

Ditto! I don't get why this is totally okay with her. And Kaname always seemed creepy to me. Zero all the way!
