The first topic was locked so i'll start a new one...
So the problem was that the normal serach dont find series that dont have releases...You'll have to go to series and serach there... So i was wondering is it that hard to fix it?
In the series info you can click on subletters, and if you look at the adressbar the letters stack up there. I noticed also that you can write what you want there and it will find it...like this http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?letter=metal

This shows metal heart which doesnt have any releases yet. So this is my suggestion. Why not just change the normal serach link with the one that finds everything? Or is there a hidden problem somewhere?

Mostly, I started on a module to do this, but can't really think of any really good way to design it. I want to have a search page that can search everything....

I'd actually prefer to have that little search box up there search all the databases and list the first like maybe 5 hits from each section... with a little link for more results. Honestly though, the way the search system was design, this would be difficult, so I'd have to redo all the SQL and what not to get it to work.

I just don't have time at the moment. But! I did start on it at least, a while back. So I have files and code--Just nothing complete.

I was about to start a thread in here about making the search function include the "associated names" of the series in the search, but I guess it actually comes down to the same probleme, because after reading this I did try using the series search option with an alternate name for a serie and it did come up.
So it will probably be settled if you ever finish this module you said you are working on.

The way the search box works right now is if a RELEASE name is entered in with the associated name.

Take this series:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/releases.html?sear ch=1323&stype=series

There are two names that work for this series. If you search for one name, you'll only see those chapters that were entered into the database with that name
