Sorry if there is a similar request around, but i couldn't find any... Well, what i'm looking for is an action manga where the protagonist is tormented for some reason and it affects his personality, like trying to escape from a painfull past or something like that and it must show in his actions, not like some heros that have a screwed life but act like everything okay... he dont need to be whiny, but it must be clear that things aren't okay.
I'd prefer if he was strong from the begining, but as long as he get strong sometime i'll be happy anyways... and if there is romance it's even better.

Thanks for the recommendations, but i've already read all of them (a few times, actually), great mangas\manwhas but i'm trying to find more like those...

Usotsuki Mi-kun to Kowareta Ma-chan Totteoki no Uso is a good manga. He has a very dark past.

Basara is an action shoujo where the female lead is tormented by hiding her identity and the reasons for hiding her identity. It's not some cheesy romance shoujo though, so it might still suit what your looking for

It's totally different than stuff like Berserk though. XD
