Ancient Aliens

Poll
Do you believe the Ancient Alien theory?
Yes, it explains a lot of the unsolved phenomena today and in the past.
IT'S. A. LOAD. OF. CRAP. The History Channel needs to get it's act together.
Well, it has some merit to a few of it's ideas...
I wouldn't eliminate the possibility of it.
No.
It's a ploy of the Scientologists, why can't anybody realize this! AHHHHHHHSDFBSIFJBWIFNS
Bleh. Who cares.

I think that this theory is made up by people who, for some reason, don't believe that ancient people had the same intellectual capabilities as people have now. The human brain didn't evolve much since ancient Egypt so I think it's safe to assume that if a modern scientist can draw some conclusion, an ancient scientist could too. Of course, people back then didn't have the experience, technology and other things we have now, but they could deal quite well with what they had.
I actually remember watching a programme about the ancient aliens theory in which one of its supporters said something like "Come on, ancient Egyptians were people who lived in primitive houses made of mud, there's no way they could build the Pyramids", which is ridiculous, obviously. I find it a bit sad that some people can't believe people could have developed such an amazing and powerful civilisation on their own and make up some ridiculous stuff about aliens.

This. I agree. Ancient civilizations came up with gods, now we're toying with aliens in order to explain things to ourselves. On that qoute about 'mud houses' it reminds me of a documentary I watched on PBS where it was pointed out that people would rather believe *aliens* built the Mayan and Aztec (adding Egyptian) pyramids and temples than the *native* people were capable of it.

P.S. who can prove it wasn't timetravellers from humanity's distant future wink

It's the same as any other belief without concrete evidence. Is there a god? Who knows. Did aliens visit Earth and give humans advanced knowledge? I have no clue, same as everybody else. None of us can pretend to know anything. Some may believe that hell yes it happened, and others are voting that it's a load of bull. Well all I have to say is 'None of you have any idea if that happened or not.' roll eyes
