I have read like 8 bazillion manga, and I'm now in the mood to stare at a computer for five hours today, reading a "dark fantasy" manga. If anyone has suggestions, that would be great! Um... like romance-y stuff... haha, I need a life. roll eyes

a bit confused here, what do you mean by dark fantasy? is it filled with lots of angst/ dark ambience?
If so, maybe these would fit:
Reimei no Arcana
Akuma no Ororon
Kanata Kara

Have you tried Fairy Cube or Cain (ASADA Yasuka) although the second is a oneshot so it is not very long and i am not shure there is any romance in it but you might want to give it a try. confused

thaaanks... haha, I had actually wanted to try Fairy Cube and I will take a look at the other thing. Thanks! biggrin

I feel like I'm calling a help line, haha, I need to be more specific, so, Dark Fantasy is a term used to describe fantasy with a pronounced horror element ( demons, ghosts, etc. ). Think dark humor, and Edgar Allen Poe stuff. haha, sorry i wasn't more specific! smile

Birthday Presents: oneshot, it has nice part of romance, though.
Genkaku Picasso: there's ghost, he can see the darkest side of people by drawing it.
Omae ga Sekai wo Kowashitai nara: vampire

Hmm, although these have no (or little romance) I think these would fit too:
Shingeki no Kyojin: giants running rampant and people try to fight them
Wolf Guy: seinen, the male lead is a lone wolf (he is indeed a werewolf). I think he has crush on his teacher. beware of
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the rape scene in later chapter

Bokurano, [m]Eden - It's an Endless world[/m]
Mirai Nikki
Franken Fran
Hakushaku Cain Series
Warau Kyuuketsuki

Berserk
Shin Angyo Onshi
Arago Yes there are demons and people die but somehow you don't get that dark ambiance in this one. But who knows, you might find it otherwise.

Dark fantasy + romance, huh?
Claymore
Berserk, of course.
Angel Sanctuary maybe? (and some other Yuki Kaori's works, actually) Fairy Cube is a great manga, but is it really dark fantasy? I'm never absolutely sure what to put in which subclass of fantasy.
Blood+ (I'm recommending the Anime version, not the manga.)

Shoujo Gensou Necrophilia, it's dark, but still kind of sweet; hope it'll end well though.
It doesn't say "romance", but it seems to me that these siblings love each other a bit more than they're supposed to, and of course there's the "childhood friend".

Read Ubel Blatt. That fits perfectly with what you want. Sure you have read Death Note already. Maybe Watashi no Messiah. The story is quite confusing though. When I remember other good ones, I will post it here
