I'm looking for a manga/manhwa/webcomic...anything that has a good story about the end of the world and people fighting to save it. I would prefer that it's not a super happy ending where the bad guys weren't able to do anything.

What I'm not looking for is the extinction of humans. Imo the end of the human race does not equal the end of the world... What I want is the physical planet being in danger not just the death of humans...which would probably be good for the Earth if some did die lol.

One example I can think of is Wakusei no Samidare.
Edit: Oh and Psyren too.

Rather than making a new topic I'll just ask on here : I'm trying to remember the name of a manga...The story is only ~10-20 chapters so far and it's about a middle school boy who has anger issues that he inherited from his father and also his older brother. His mother stabbed his older brother and she went to prison and his older brother vowed to kill her when she gets released, so the kid starts taking aikido from an American looking teacher at his school.

Ga-Rei 2nd part
Eureka Seven later when you know more

second Saishuu Heiki Kanojo and Kurohime

note: except for Kurohime the world itself isn't really endangered, but if extermination of all living (or almost all) species is fine, then those should fit^^

I strongly second SaiKano and Bokurano.

SaiKano, which is mainly a love story, is especially good if you want something that deals with the horrors of war. However it starts of as a war drama; the end of the world bit only comes out near the end so it isn't that much about saving the world. Nonetheless I strongly encourage you to read it (if you haven't yet).

On the other hand Bokurano is a genuine prevent-the-end-of-the-world story. It is also an excellent read if you want to get down and dirty with human nature and existentialism.

Kurohime
Ga-Rei
Neither fit 100%, but are I'd say they're close enough and are amazing reads.

This ought to be Evil Heart.

Nowhere Boy has a really interesting take on the end of the world. It's not just the end of people, but of the planet. And the way they fight back for it is... well, different. Sort of cheerful at times, but also really eerie at others.

Psycho Busters
Time control and a ESPer organization trying to destroy the world (not conquer, DESTROY)
I'd recommend Psyren but you've already read it wink
