Am i the only one that get that feeling? Double arts was 10 times better than this, more original, better main character, better heroine, yet it got axed when it still had much to give. Now this mangaka (Komi Naoshi) bring us a new manga and this is what we get?
:S, poor guy, i also think the Editor is to blame, everybody thinks the one-shot is way better than the first chapter, what with all the terrible corrections?

I agree.... its why I stopped reading it and put it in my complete list. I remember it as the great oneshot it was, and nothing else. Would be much more preferable to have a continuation of double arts was a good and unique action romance.... I hate editors sometimes.... they pay way too much attention to current ratings and never place any bets on potential. Useless pansies and that's all there is to it.

I actually hope it ends/it's axed soon. The sory is not so great but still worth reading, I'm afraid to think what it could became by stretching it for a 100 chapters or so. I want Double Arts back
Btw, am I the only one who is reminded of Bakuman? I mean, the start with a good series(Detective Trap for Ashirogi Muto; Double Arts for Komi Naoshi) that for some reasons gets axed soon. Then they are back to proposing one shots, and the one less adaptable as a series gets to selected to serialization(Tanto Daihatsu for Ashirogi Muto; Nisekoi for Komi Naoshi).
If they follow this pattern we should be able to hope for a third series that is really good!

yeah, but perhabs this way he can gather ressources to continue Double Arts
I mean, it's not that the author will burn out because of overwork because of something this common xD
He could reserve his strength to make a comeback full of glory and appreciation.
(I'm still hoping...)
well I guess the one-shot is essentially better, but still, the series is still better than a bunch of things that are realased currently...
and well you could as well finish what you started right? It's not very time or brain consuming...
and on topic: don't be so sure, as you see more and more often, something doesn't need to be good to be appreciated...

rather foolish of the OP to making uninformed speculation with no factual basis whatsover. you can hardly judge the potential cancellation of a series on a 'feeling'.
on the topic of cancellation, it is unlikely that this series will be cancelled based on the information currently available as the last couple of chapters have scored quite well on WSJ reader surveys. so barring some precipitous drop in WSJ reader approval, i think it's fair to assume nisekoi's immediate future is secure (for now).

Sorry to disappoint the people who awaited the early demise of this series but so far it has been quite stable when it comes to the WSJ rankings like it has been said before. Its ranks have been something close to this:
4-?-6-5-6-?-7-7-8
Which is pretty good for a romantic comedy. Besides its major "rival" has just ended (Harisugawa was also a rom-com and they shared a couple of points so it's fair to assume there was a certain degree of competition between the two) so it doesn't look bad for Nisekoi.

Yeah, i notice. It really amaze me, but i suppose i forget the main readers of the jump are kids. On the other hand good for the mangaka.
I still think there is not much story to pull it for a "long" time tough. (but maybe me saying that would suddenly give the mangaka a burst of inspiration )
@tupelo_stevo
That kind of comment is out of context, he was just giving his opinion regarding an annoying and clichéd situation often used on manga

Yeah, I guess you have a point. The target audience is younger so they probably don't really mind the bad points of the manga as long as there are cute girls and simple gags. And yes, thankfully the mangaka gets another chance like this (I think that 2 cancelled series pretty much destroys the posssibility of ever publishing in WSJ again so if Nisekoi got axed too soon it'd be the end for his WSJ manga).
Though I have to disagree with you about the story not feeling like one that could be extended for a long time. Most romantic comedies in Jump sort of feel that way. I''S for instance has an extremely simple plot but the author still extended it for more than 3 years. Shounen rom-coms are easy to extend because you can always add another misunderstanding, or another heroine. Then in Nisekoi, in case the author runs out of ideas in that field he can always explore some mafia/gang aspects of the plot.

Please no. Everything but that. There is already Tutor Hitman Reborn for that, and I hate it.
Fortunately, exactly because of Reborn existence, I don't think that's going to happen, they would be overlapping too much.

I think that's called Tsundere... and almost every manga i've ever read has someone like that.

Damn, i expect it not to end like that. I hate it when manga keep going at expense of creativity. But you are probably right

Like what Claudiofd said, it's not likely to be axed, considering that it scores really high on the SJ rankings :/ It's really sad that so many readers prefer this over Double Arts.
