is there a way to hide the categories/tags? If not, I'd like to make a suggestion where there is an option that allows us to hide the categories because sometimes when I'm looking for new series/manga to read and i scroll down for the summaries the categories pretty much spoil all the surprises like (dark past, abuse, xxx relationship, bla bla bla).

Yes, there's a way. Go to User CP, click Edit Profile, and choose yes for the option that says "Hide Series Categories by default?"
