I know this might sound a little impossible, but I'm looking for a good shoujo/josei where the female lead doesn't end up with the male lead, but maybe the supporting character? I've actually gotten sick of stories where the supporting male character usually treats the female lead better but she still ends up with the main guy... just because he's the main guy.

I think I've seen way too many stories where although there's a love triangle it's obvious who she's going to pick, or there's always that one guy that is sweet and caring (and obviously a better choice) but ends up being left behind in favor of the male lead. Basically I'm wondering if there are any good stories out there where the girl ends up going for the other guy, rather than the guy that's on the cover.

Thanks!

This isn't shoujo. But it's the first thing that came to mind.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Ichigo 100%

It's drawn/written by a woman, however.

(didn't post a link because it invalidates the spoiler box;

...

same thing with the series I'm posting below).

Other than that, (this is shoujo)

Absolute Boyfriend

In a way.

[edit]
Ah... just thought of it.

Try Kashimashi. It wonderfully toes the line between "he/she should have ended up with _ _ _ _ _ _" beautifully. Give it a shot.

But watch out. It's Shoujo Ai. (don't let that deter you)

Love Berrish but it really depends on what you consider the "male lead" is. To me, it would be the guy she first meets and falls in love sort of thing. But a try won't hurt smile
