Mmm... perhaps the endings you think are crappy are good to someone else. Some people like happy endings, others like tragedy. Some people like having all the loose ends tied up while others like endings that leave you wondering or are open to interpretation. Some people wish that some stories could go on forever.

And then, some endings really do suck because the mangaka/writers are in a rush to end it and don't come up with something that has much to do with the rest of the story.

PS I think this thread might have been better in the manga general forum.

after reading/ watching so many bad endings i start to wonder if the Japanese like crap endings or something, ( since most of this stuff would be primarily targeted at them) dead

lol.

It just makes me depressed.

Chrono Crusade (the anime) had an awesome ending though...

I just despise it when the mangaka leaves me wondering what's going to happen at the end of a series!! O_O

I accept any ending rather than leaving it with open story, just because they are not sure if they want to continue it someday.

Endings should tie up everything, and have an epilogue!

yu yu hakusho's ending in the anime was good to me. i'd rather have a closure to it than none at all and besides, they got together in the end.

I dont really think alot of people cared about Yusuke's and Keiko's relationship as much as they (as in me) cared about him becoming King of Demonworld! dead

I think there are three main reasons for that... laugh

1) The ending really did suck. biggrin Everyone will agree on that... Could be because the author rushed it and just tried to finish it.

2) You wanted the manga/anime to continue on for a time, at least for a little while. Because it was one of the best you've read/seen.

Or,...

3) You just didn't like the ending, because it didn't go as you expected or you just didn't plain like the ending... laugh

People are not easily satisfied, and manga/anime endings include in that.

Though I liked/accepted every ending to a manga I know.

Death Note, Basilisk, Ichigo 100%, etc. were all logical/acceptable endings to me from an objective standpoint. Most people who 'complain' about those endings usually have a subjective reason for the complaints.

Those ending that leave us wondering are the worst ones. I mean, they are good and just shows how emotionally involved we've got with the story, but at the same time is frustating.

The reader needs closure.

I preffer bittersweet, open endings.
