Hm I don't read the manga, but there was a game I played which title is Basara. It translated to 'Demon King'.

Basara was a "cultural feeling" of extravagance and exoticism that characterized the Muromachi period (1336-1573) in opposition to the failed Kenmu restoration (which tried to restore a civilian government) and to the classical values. It was centered about Kyoto and warrior class (since Kyoto was the capital of the shogunate at that time).
That's what I know, I don't know if there is another meaning of the word more suited to this manga.

Edit: I just realized it's basically written in the series summary: "Basara - The spirit of freedom which denies old authority, transcending traditions and customs." roll eyes

The meaning was written as a foreword on the first chapter.

"Basara - The spirit of freedom which denies old authority, transcending traditions and customs"
